Well the home and away is done and we've got 2 home finals with a top 2 finish. If anyone had suggested this around this time last year, you'd have got your head checked..... But here we are!

Good:

Results finally went our way!
2nd half was scintillating
No injuries!
Dangerfield. Machine.
Brodie Smith's goal
Callinan. Super important he keeps this form up in finals
Rutten looked sharper than previous weeks
Porps was all class. Good to have the old Porps back.
Stiffy up forward. If Callinan doesn't go so well, we have more class with our smalls
We get Tex and Vince back next week. I'll assume Lynch and Jaensch out. Riley sub.

Bad:

I got nothing

Ugly:

Brown's hit on Riley
Commentating. Anyone who says "change the channel, put the radio on, blah, blah can get stuffed. It was blatantly bad. It started with Dunstall calling Derwayne the "best caller in the business" at the start and not the first time this year and it got worse with their barracking for GC and hoping for frees. Needs to be more professional

Our first half looked like we were just going through the motions and thats fine with me.

Exciting times. Dare to dream. Finals are here and we are in good shape with no serious injuries (touch wood, salt over the shoulder and whatever else needs to be done to unjinx us)

Look, I get the commentators were barracking for the underdog, but I've never heard them call it quite like they did today, particularly the umpiring. They picked up what they believed to be injustices that came our way, but never one picked up anything in return. Even when they were blatantly wrong in their call, they weren't even prepared to say, no I was wrong the free was definitely there.

I think Dunstall is one of the best and most impartial commentators in the business, and Shaw is fine, though clearly a nuffie. Roos, however, is unwatchable.

We got an ENORMOUS ride from the umps. Didn't effect the game in any way and I hope they keep it up for next week.

I'm a huge Sloane fan but he his 2nd half of the season form has been lack luster compared to the 1st half. Several contests today he seemed slow or just not to attack the footy at the intensity we know he can and as a result goals were kicked on him. Not sure if just a bit out of form or injured? Regardless it will critical to get him firing for the next few weeks as he is definitely a barometer of how we are playing- a real potential X factor.

Every free we got wasn't there, and they got robbed all day apparently.

Loved how Tippo getting the arm over the shoulder and arms chopped was succeeded by 5 minutes of them whinging about how you should be allowed to do it and it shouldn't be a free. Then the ball goes up the other end and the same thing happens, "definite free there, you can't do that."

I agree but a fair percentage of support for most teams (including ours) are made up of "fairweather" supporters. The "die hards" like us will go to every game possible but most of them would rather go to games which have more riding on it and usually only when we are winning hence the "fairweather". Even though we are winning the Gold Coast game wouldn't have looked interesting enough on paper for most. I don't like that is the case but unfortunately that is reality. Not every supporter is a "die hard".
