I have sorted Freo's players into the following lists:

Very Good. fyfe, mundy, serong, Brayshaw, darcy, Ryan
Good. Sturt, Switta, Walters, Young, Taberner, Hamling,
Average. Shultz, Logue, Crowden, Wilson, Pearce, Cox, Fredericks, Treacy, Colyer,
Depth. Tucker, Banfield, Acres, Hughes, Blakely, Meek,
Too Early to tell. Henry, Valente, Chapman, O Driscoll, Western, Walker,

The point to all this - I think for us to be a serious finals contender we need more players that fall into the good/very good category than the average/depth category. At the moment we have too many average players. (And yes, going off his 2021 form, Pearce is an average player)

Good:

• Darcy emerging as one of the best rucks in the league.
• Brayshaw developing into either a very good or elite AFL midfielder.
• Serong building on his Rising Star form.
• Producing a high level of scoring shots (particularly early in the year) and seeing an improvement in our offensive gameplan.

Bad:

• Tackles and pressure.
• Accuracy
• Walter's poor form continues.
• Failing to retain Cerra.

Ugly:

• That percentage.
• Getting blown out against Carlton, West Coast, Geelong, Sydney, etc.
• The injury list.
