Easy to be negative but

That was an improvement, there was more fight, more effort and a semblance of a game plan where we tried to move the ball on. Gotta keep playing the kids and gotta keep putting them in the guts, it will get better.

Really need to work in the gym this off season so we are big enough to make tackles stick, that really stood out today

Good: We didn't lose by 10 goals.

Bad: We would have lost by ten goals if Brisbane could kick straight.

In all seriousness, I didn't get to watch because I had an engagement elsewhere. So, questions...

Was the third quarter as respectable as it seems?

I know it was a late change, but was playing Frampton and the Berg as stupid as it sounds?

How did the kids go? Hamill injured?

Clearances any better?

I feel we were better, but it should of been a 10 goal plus win to the Bears.

+ Saw something today in Jones, I’ve failed to see any traits before that lead me to think he’ll be even an above average mid, but there were a few moments today. Must get more midfield time, it’s a non negotiable for the rest of the year.

Third and fourth quarter is how we need to play this season.

Forget the finer detail in game plan and just attack the goal mouth. It is fun to play, fun to watch and builds team chemistry.

First half was rubbish.

I wanted effort and intensity - tick
I wanted a forward/mid structure - tick although the forward setup was wrong
And a different looking midfield - big tick.

Will gather myself for a more thorough review later.

Nothing honourable about the second half. If they kicked straight we lose by 15 goals.

Jones, McHenry - Showed abit but a long way to go.
Murphy and Himmelberg- Horrendous
B Crouch - a meaningless 24 possession game
Only 1 player with more than 16 possessions - lazy and unfit.
Keays - One of the few with a heart
Tex - good
Young talent - nothing to get excited about.

There was somewhat improvement today but long way to go. Murphy and Keays need to be out next week. ROB is more of a concern atm.

Good :
- signs from Jones, Poholke, McAdam, Keays busted his arse off again

- lions were inaccurate

Bad:

- Hamill concussion

Ugly :

- Laird in a 1v1
- Murphy and Berg ... they ain’t got it
- Umpires
- 1st half

Would love to see Doedee moved on ball, that chase of Cameron at the end shows he has the break away pace, he has the size too of a Cripps / Fyfe etc..
