sloane disgraceful effort from the get-go, schoenberg impressed, tex doing tex things, fogarty looking more of a dud every week being outmuscled by a scrawny defender every contest, TT got a bath from an experienced defender, but also seemed to me his competitiveness was off, maybe drank his own bathwater during the week off? Pretty terrible result considering the opposition we're playing.

It was like watching two teams in the 2nd year of a rebuild. But one of them is a decade in...

Showed onfield grit which is good away from home. Even when we were good under Pyke we'd often lose by 30+ when the going got a bit tough. These guys don't quit.

A lot to work on and still in the hunt for a Top 4 pick.

Whats the point of beating Geelong, Melbourne when you lose to Carlton, Hawthorn and Collingwood.
New coach, same weak minded soft efforts.
Senior players playing pathetic standard of football - Smith decision making, Sloane in general, Brown dropping sitters, Mackay being Mackay.
Nothing changes except the opponent

Hate Sunday games, the whole thing just stunk stunk real bad. Plus there was a stench over the whole comp today thanks to covid. The whole thing just stinkeroo. Thanks for the tickets tho.

One of the main takeaways for me would be Thilthorpe's game.

I hope the coaches/development staff go through the footage with him and he is shown ways to use his body legally.

10 or so games in, and I think that could be a weakness. One on one contests against a genuine FB.

Yeah he is a kid, but something for him to work on. If not, he may end up more if a Ruckman than true forward.

Kicking 6 points early, a joke. Along with Sholl's miss.

Forward delivery was terrible. But that is pretty much part of our club fabric.

I like how we saw GWS successfully tag Walsh and thought "nah, let's just let him have 35 touches instead"
We shouldn't be tagging anyone at our stage

Considering we're in a rebuild, it's probably the best result long-term at the moment.

That said, I look forward to when we're at the part of the rebuild where we can string four consistent quarters together, and not 3 with one where we're puss.

Quick run down on how some of the kids went:

Thilthorpe got given a bath by Jones. Hard to be critical of it, it is probably about time an AFL quality key got a hold of him.
Our Jones looked good for the most part, some of those kicks were superb and was a pitbull.
Sholl was quiet. Sinks the goal at the end and it's a solid outing, but I'm hopeful that was just a bit of inexperience coming through.
Schoenberg had a really good third, and not much else.
We had the best and worst of McHenry this week.
Butts was ok, difficult gig especially without having Doedee as a floating tall.
Berry and Hamill were effectively non-existent. It happens.
Fogarty got two goals at least.
