There isn't much happening on this board lately so I thought I would start a thread.

It's pretty much the same as what you see on footy classified.

I'll start it off,

Ben Reid has to play round 1? We need to get games into him at senior level next year if he is going to be our future CHB.

Good call, Bad call?

Good Call, Aaron, Good Call.

We need an attacking CHB, and Reid seems to fit that bill.

My turn;

Collingwood are a genuine premiership threat in 2010 with the addition of Darren Jolly.

Good Call, Bad Call?

hmmm, well i havent seen much of ben reid , but, of what i have seen of him he has been fairly shithouse, im leaning towards good call because i havent really seen him play lately so, i would like to see how he is now.

good thread :thumbsu:

Good call,
Swan will get 50 disposals in 1 game in 2010 with the help of jolly.

good call, but i still think we"d of been a fair chance without him TBH, with natural improvement to the majority of our list.

Bad call - I'm not sure that his injury actually held him back to the extent that he was hampered, but I think that he's the kind of guy who needs to get his momentum up and have a full pre-season before he can have a full, consistent year like in 2008. Give him a full pre-season and he should be back in form in 2010.

Good Call/Bad Call - The addition of Nathan Buckley as forward coach will see our overall conversion in front of goal improve in 2010.

Not a good call Vinnie Vegas but not a bad one either. Travis Cloke is a lost cause in front of the sticks, no one can help him now and Anthony is already a excellent set shot. He could help with Dawes and a couple others but the main guys are Cloke and Anthony. Buckley will probably improve the fwds with footy smarts getting into better positions and work ethic putting pressure on the opposition.

Good Call/Bad Call - Are we seeing the end of Josh Fraser with the recruitment of Darren Jolly and the emergence of Cameron Wood who will need game time to develop?

Can Jolly, Wood, Fraser all play in the same team

GOOD CALL or BAD CALL

Good Call I Reckon Jolly as 1st Ruck, Wood as 2nd Ruck and Fraser as Roaming the Ground without doing the Ruck

Question: Was Leon Injured during the Finals?

Good call DTM....I mean TD. Davis seemed to carry injuries throughout the season at stages, but worsened towards the end of the year. His September form was terrible, although he was beaten before the month even began. He's last month or so leading up wasn't overly crash hot either. No excuse for the form showed, but was clearly struggling and spent the majority of time up forward and playing as a crumbing forward in the heat of September is a tough gig unless you're flogging your opposition.

Good call/Bad call: Cameron Wood should get first crack as backup ruckman from the beginning of the 2010 season?

Spot on Call - Wood need Crack in the Ruck before with Fraser espically with Fraser's Dodgy Knee

Good call/Bad call: Cameron Wood should get first crack as backup ruckman from the beginning of the 2010 season?

Good call - he's the future.

Good call/bad call: Any one of several teams could win the flag next year, given natural improvement and the judicious drafting that's taken place. Geelong, St Kilda, Adelaide, Collingwood and perhaps even the Brisbane Lions. The Bulldongs could go either way - Hall is still a nutter and Aker is old. Luck re injuries will be a critical factor, perhaps more so than usual, with so many teams so close.

GCBC thomas to have a breakout year and start repaying the faith MMs shown in him.

Not Sure Call - He has Promised Lots but really Deliver Much but I hope he can

Horific call the only way his going to get a game next year is if Fraser or Jolly go down

I think that is Wrong - Fraser has a Stuffed Knee so he could get Injured very Quickly and Wood need the Game Time to get Better in the AFL.

If we don't play Wood much this Season we might as well of thinking of Trading Wood because Wood is the Future and Fraser is not

Good call, Although I think it is that way most years. St Kilda, Geelong and Hawthorn will still probably all start favourites and rightly so. Collingwood, Adeliade, Dogs and the Lions will all be confident in the next bracket and rightfully so. Also most years there will be a suprise each way with an unexpected side preforming beyond expectation and a favourite having a down year.

I think Wood should be played as a second ruck with Jolly as I personally think Wood is as good and potentially better thsn Fraser in the ruck. They are both equally unreliable IMO too. Wood with his ability to mentally switch off and Fraser with his body.

All that said the idea of trading him if we don't play him is absurd. As you said he is the future, if Fraser is the present that doesn't stop Wood being the future. Wood may well want to be traded if he isn't getting a game that is a different issue.

Good Call Bad Call - Will Jarrad Blight make a Impact in the AFL next season and have a Run at the Rising Star?

Bad call. He is a great talent but was only a burst player who showed glimpses of what he had in the VFL last year. If Blighty can break into the team next year it will be par for him, won't get near the rising star.

GC BC Pendles to at least place in next years brownlow.
