Tough call, I'd say bad call, just because we're still an ultra-young side. If we improve on last year (we already have) and keep the intensity that we've shown from rounds 2 onwards then we'll win a few more. Bad call, Jack Watts will be a gun KPF in two years time (or at least on the way to becoming one), and with a number of other mobile footballers around him, I don't think another gun KPF will be necessary. Further, why trade one of our gun midfielders? They'll be the players that make our side tick at that point in time.

Neville Jetta has the ability to be a permanent fixture in our starting 22 two years from now.

Bad call, I don't think he is overrated nor do I overrate him & most posters are aware that he is prone to injury which has hampered his progress & being able show his full ability, but to say he is a poor mans Cloke is just being antagonistic.

Scully, Trengove, Bail & McKenzie will all get rising star nominations this year.

Good Call. Without trying to be biased I thought Scully was more deserving than Naitanui last week. NicNat gets more attention than he really deserves because of his whole package. But 13 possessions and 18 hitouts is in no way a massive game of football. Yes he did do some very exciting things, but was very very patchy. Scully however had a big game, getting 26 touches, using the ball well, a number of clearances, and a number of tackles.


The midfield trade call earlier...I go for good call. I think our midfield options will allow us to be able to get rid of one of them, and not affect us too much. If everything goes well with Watts (touch wood) and he becomes the player we all hope, imagine having Roughead or someone similar nice and deep in the goalsquare.


In 2 years time our backline will rival that of Geelongs 2007-2009 backline.

Good call. He is very good in the clinches, but I would prefer to see him dish it off by hand to a runner outside with better footskills a little more often. Moloney uses the ball alright, and is a very penetrating kick, but at the moment with no real tall option forward I think the long kick is wasted. If our setup changes, or the small forwards can start reading the ball of the packs better, then it will be a good kick, but at this stage we really need to be pinpointing passes into our forward 50.

Bad Call. Far too optimistic. Geelong have been phenomonal as a side and with players like Scarlett, Milburn, Mackie, Taylor, Harley in the back half they can't be compared to players showing potential.

It is good to see Jordan Gysberts named as an emergency already.

Good call. No need to turn him into a midfielder. We have enough! He is fast becoming the general down back, and we really need someone like that. Given he can do it already with so few games experience, it holds him in good stead for the future.

BTW - Gysberts trained with team this morning, and looked very good, dont think it will be long until he plays his first game.


Stefan Martin should be brought into the side after playing decent footy for Casey as the Full Forward/Backup Ruck option.

Good call. We needed to keep Robo there to teach the young fella's a few things, and to take the best defender of the opposition whilst the young guys develop. Robbo loved the club, and loved playing the game, and did enough to warrant at least one more year. He was always good for 30 or 40 goals a year. And lets be honest, who didnt want to see him go for Mark of the Year just one more time!

Bad call. I agree he would be the perfect fit for our list, but we would have to give up a seriously good young player (Frawley/Trengove/Grimes??) plus probably a good draft pick. I think the best option is to take the best player available with our first pick in the next draft, then take a couple of risks on taller guys with our late picks.
