We deserve both.

2 marquee games a season. Good Friday and the first collingwood home game every season in front of 70,000 + would be huge for our club.

After we have had no friday night games in the past 3 seasons its the least we deserve.
My point is though, Round 1 will probably fall on Easter weekend again next year.
The AFL will use the 'Collingwood has too many marquee games' excuse and not give them Good Friday (Not that they really want it).

Don't get me wrong, I agree with you that we deserve both after being shafted for so long, but I don't see Good Friday happening if Round 1 Vs. Collingwood goes ahead.

Pretty sure the AFL has said no Good Friday next year. It was reported earlier in the year. At the time I thought it was because they were planning on making Carlton play in the GF day and they couldn't in round 1 with them playing the Tigers ok Thursday.

AFL obviously overrated the Blues and now they have be burnt there may be a chance to rethink the GF game and the Blues involvement.

I fear you may be right. This sounds to me like a Griffen/Tom Boyd-style attempt to jujitsu a behind-the-scenes negative into a positive.

Bugger. Hope we are both wrong!
