Cooked up some bacon and eggs and sat wondering yet again why Jews don't eat pork...

i find it more frustrating than boring because as there is nothing to do, i actually get around to doing all the stuff around the house i need to

then realise that i'm missing something that i require to complete the task (i.e. hooks to hang stuff up, roundup to kill weeds etc) but no shops are open go and buy it

of course if the shops and other things were open then i wouldn't be doing the around the house stuff anyway

I'm Greek, it's the worst day of the year.

I consider this weekend to be easter (not that i'm particularly religious), but get nothing out of it because the fam just consider it a normal day.

And i can't go hang out with mates or go to the shops or watch some footy because everyone else considers it culturally significant.

Just a shitty shitty day

Ffs, are we all mindless ADHD sufferers that we have to be entertained every minute of every day?
1 day that almost everything's shut and people go into a complete ****ing meltdown.
Stop whinging, grab a book and read it, get on your bike and ride it (well done Gaso), a day trip somewhere in the car, make a day of it watching a series you've been meaning to watch, mow the lawns, clean the house and garage, spend the day at the beach, listen to the radio in the background all day, do anything but complain about the fact that for 0.27% of the year we can't go and do what we usually do.
First world problems indeed .....

Fair enough, just that our local Fish & Chip had a sign they were closed today & on Monday, as are all the other take-away shops around here. Maybe they've found they don't get enough business to justify opening.

Maybe they wanted to go on holiday?

It's the long weekend.

Go to the country for a short holiday or something.

Are people's lives really that focused on the footy being on or the clubs being open?
How about people do what they please and not be restricted by some outdated rituals that should have lost their relevance a couple of centuries ago.

I like it. Nothing's open. It's not like Christmas where you have a whole lot of stuff you have to do. It's the one day of the year that there is absolutely no compulsion to do anything, because even if you did want to do something you can't.

I'm not religious but it's a nice day for just... stopping.

Yeah, that'll happen. They'll get rid of Christmas, bulldoze all churches and get rid of all charities, schools and hospitals that are associated with religion. You might be waiting a while.
