Good luck Jezza. Hope you kick a bag.

AJ 18, Luke Jericho is a 189 cm / 82 kg utility who can play anywhere. He was originally recruited as a forward but since then he has also demonstrated that he can play in the backlines and on the wing.

He is lightening quick, has a big vertical leap and is excellent in the air. He is also very good at ground level and knows where the goals are.

Last week he played for West Adelaide in SANFL as a HFF and had 18 posssions, 10 marks and kicked 6 goals 2 behinds. He will add some marking and goal kicking power to our line up.

He is still very raw and has a lot of learning to do but his form in the last month has pushed selectors to give him a chance before they have originally planned.

I don't expect a hell of a lot but he will learn from this and hopefully it helps him realise what is required to be a successful AFL player.

we got him at number 32 in 2002 draft. The pick we got as a part of the Carey-Johnson-Wells deal.

Not quite Stiffy - Carey and Wells had nothing to do with it, did they?

It was the Johnson - Torney deal and the adjustment on draft picks if I remember correctly, wasn't it?

Wasn't it a 3 way deal anyway??????

We did get that pick from Richmond in all that merry go around.;)

If Jezza can kick a couple of goals I would be happy with his debut. However, I am expecting it to be more like a Hentschel or a Reilly debut.:(

Think positive Stiffy! I'm hoping for a Benny Hart like debut. Can only dream... ;)

I really hope so. Jezza has potential but he is REALLY RAW. I would love him to come in and get 20 touches, take 12 marks and kick5 goals but thats a bit of wishful thinking.

I sincierly wish he has a great game and help us win our first for the game. He might take the Saints by surprise like Rutten took Dockers last year.

Would be interesting to see him play on the likes of Goddard, who was a #1 pick.

Didn't realise Begley was already up to 50 games. Hopedfully he can have a big one against his former team!

Come to think of it Goddard would be a very good match up for Jezza (From saints perspective)

And good luck to Begley on his 50th game. Hope both of the boys have rippers.

Good luck to the kid and good luck to the crows supporters who go to the game. I hope you can turn around what has been a rough start and have some enjoyment at a game of footy this year!

Yeah, that's true when you think about it.

Goddard is also 189cm, weighs about the same (I think a little more) and both are young, adaptable players. Of course, with Jericho starting on the bench you never know who he will be up against...

I am actually more confident about this week's team than last week's. With a bit more youth, we should be able to play a fast, flowing type of football. After our marginal loss last week, I expect us to bounce back. We might not even win, but still show that we have some pride and talent.

I would also like to note that Mike Sheahan said he watched the game in Perth (on replay) and noticed that Adelaide were finding some form and looked promising. It was just their inaccuracy that let them down.

So anyway, good luck to the young kid, I hope Doughty as well has a good game.

Oh, and does anyone remember my post last year that was a poll of our best young players? I had Jericho in that poll and no one voted. How things change! ;)
