When you sat on that bed looking on nonchalantly in that motel as the Roo admin. went through a possible deal, I wonder if it ever crossed your mind that you would miss out on a flag in 96 and 99, a GF appearance in 98, playing with the greatest player of the generation, and all those Prelim. Finals. I suppose you kinda thought we must have been on a hiding to nowhere back then. Hope you didn't take offence when Dave King constantly reminded you of these facts.

Suppose you must have thought that the Bears, now the Lions were on a hiding to nowhere as well. Seems they have their second flag in there sites as well...back to back, not too many of those teams going around, plus three Brownlow Medallists.

So anyway, all the best. Hope you join the club of GF winners and win me some money in the Norm Smith!

buckley is a champion of the game....he just made the worst possible decision he could have made, and that is "play premiership football" at collingwood of all teams. should have gone to st.kilda! they got a final faster than collingwood! he had to waste an entire career in order to get to where he is now....

saying that, i hope he wins the norm smith....he deserves more recognition as a player

The whole North admin-Buckley meeting reminds me of that scene in Jerry McGuire where he gets stitched up in the hotel by the young guy and his dad.

I also remember the day North played Coll and there was a big article in the paper on Carey and Buckley - strengths and weakness stuff before the game

That IDIOT pumped himself up and agreed with everything put forward by the journalist.

In contrast, Carey agreed that Buckley was a 'fantastic player', etc, etc.

North killed Collingwood.

In the after match interview, a stupid, sheepish Buckley agreed mmmm perhaps the interview was if not the best timing, was probably not 'quite' accurate.

I hope Collingwood LOSE and lose badly - 2 reasons - McGuire and Buckley.

McGuire is making a great play for the "poorer clubs" re interstate clubs and the salary cap, but at the same time REFUSES to give up the 'blockbuster' on Anzac Day.
And now has the gall to go head-to-head on a GF TRADITION, the North Melbourne GF Breakfast.

Eddie some of us are not us dumb as you would like to believe.

This particular AFL admin and big egos from certain clubs are killing the game.

I heard Jacko on the radio this morning. Still finds it hard to say we mucked up this and that, but was an improvement on what I have heard of late re: denial denial denial.

Still doesn't really understand why crowds are down, but is getting it...yep the shabby AFL Tv Rights deal that has seen us miss half our games on free to air this year.

I suppose when you look back now, the Brissy bears weren't such a bad option hey? Afterall, Premiers in 2001 and 2002 isn't exactly a basket case is it?

And hey, when the Rooboys came rattling the door, you just couldn't believe they would even have the audacity to seek you out.

Buckley was excellent today.

Voss was the most important player on the ground though.

Every game he plays bridges that gap between he and Carey as the best player I have ever seen.

Physically imposing, balanced, supremely skillful, gutsy. After Carey the most complete player of the I have had the pleasure of watching.
