Good news for Bock's back
7:09:41 PM Sun 4 June, 2006
afc.com.au

Nathan Bock has been told he can increase his training workload with a view to playing in about four or five weeks.

The Crows defender, who has not played this season because of a stress fracture in the back, is expecting to resume running this week and has his eyes on a return to the SANFL early next month.

"We will see how things go but it's great to be cleared to do some extra work," Bock said.

Bock’s back showed signs of a stress reaction in early March month but further scans a few weeks later revealed this had turned into a stress fracture.

Several Crows came off the injury list late last week. Tyson Edwards (ankle) returned to the side to play Essendon while Bernie Vince (quad), Jason Porplyzia (knee) and Luke Jericho (shoulder) all played in the SANFL.

And although South Adelaide had the SANFL bye, Jason Torney's return from a quad tear continued when he played with the Eagles' reserves.

Yeh, great news. We need Bock and Welsh back if we are going to be a serious contented in September. Although we have been getting by, those 2 obviously improve our team and allow others to concentrate on their normal role in the team.:thumbsu:

Lets keep our fingers crossed.

Add Perrie too.

Excellent news, but if he is only allowed to start running now, he is a long way off being AFL match fit.

Will be great to get Welsh, Bock, Perrie and Torney back.

Also promising to see Vince, Porps and Jericho all playing again. Its healthy for us to have as many fit players on our list as possible.

C'mooooooon Douglas and Rock.

Will we see Huddo back playing this year or will the club insist on the side of caution & keep him in cotton wool for next year & beyond ??

Having 2 mongrel hard at it clearance specialist ruckmen in the team makes my mouth water with anticipation.

that is good news. I am not sue where he will fit into your team. you are travelling quite well ATM
As much as Scott Stevens has proven to be relatively capable of contributing as a tall defender, a fit Bock would take CHB without question, and Scotty would slot back into the Magpies like he'd been there all along.

At CHB where else. Scott stevens is just a backup for us.

Great news to see Bocky getting back. At the start of the year i couldnt wait to see what improvement he had in his defensive game as his offensive game had been very impressive. Hopefully he can get back to some sort of form before the finals as he is a confidence player.

Looks like hes got a bad tear of the medial if thats the case. Something he'll have to carry for his career. Was listening to 5aa on the internet over here and Neil mentioned him as someone who will be a good player for us. Not really important as theres lots of time to wait being his first yr player of course.
