Surprised how small there AFL limits are
I believe it's only in its trial phase until Sunday. Their main site has much bigger AFL lines - $5,328. On game-day they said they will offer $10,000 lines on NRL/AFL.

Whispers are their racing product will be up in two weeks I expect it to be much higher margin than its sports book but that won't ban punters and seek to have higher limits than Topsport. Not sure if it'll be a money earner for them, but it may attract more to its sportsbook over say the TAB.

The Tripp-owned Beteasy will be available soon too in a new format.

If you force a bookie to take a minimum fixed odds bet they will still just refer bets to traders and wind the price in. How are you going to prove there wasn't a big bet on the runner you wanted to bet moments before you attempted to place yours. That's what they will tell the regulators.

If you click on the price, they have to let you on, they can't refuse it.

Tripp on Beteasy

He is not giving away too much yet, but Tripp says one point of differ*entiation for Beteasy will be taking on riskier bets from bigger punters, *currently being blocked by the other, *bigger operators. “I think there’s a bit of balance you can find where you can service these punters, forgo a bit of [profit] margin, increase turnover and keep growing. While our margin won’t be as high as some of our competitors our turnover will be growing at a much quicker rate.”

Very happy to read this! (Although I may have just joined betfair for nothing) Anyone done a pinnacle racing odds vs everyone else's odds comparison yet?

EDIT: Never mind, just clicked on racing and saw that it's "coming soon..".

That's not far enough. :) Any specific week on July then?

Rang Ladbrokes just now to get my account reopened, they said "we closed it for commercial reasons and will not be reopening it at this time."

I mentioned this change in legislation as of Sep 1, and the guy said, "Well it's not September 1 yet, so we won't be reopening your account. Obviously if that legislation change has been made, then the supervisors will look at it, but we won't be reopening it at this time."

I said that surely they'd reopen it earlier, else they'd be flooded with calls on Sep 1, why not open them earlier to avoid that.

"If it comes to that, it comes to that." was the reply.

How far have you looked into it? Surely it won't be as simple as letting everyone back in on Sep 1? If you are banned/heavily restricted before September, wouldn't they be within their rights to hold their ground and say OK from NOW ON we can no longer restrict anyone? Does it actually say in black and white that your accounts must be opened up?

If it is across the board and they let everyone on then you should ring up Ladbrokes today and ask for that debit card they have and say 'Oh I realize I can't get a bet on now, I'd just like to be ready for Sept 1 ...because you are going to cop a flogging' :D
