With the current crackdown on headhigh contact, and the suspensions handed out over the previous few weeks, there is absolutely no doubt he'll go. Probably looking at 2 weeks, wasn't really much in it, but certainly enough in this day and age.

Loving the anti-Goodes hysteria on the main boards! "Filthy", "dog", "disgrace to the Brownlow". If it was anyone else there'd either be no mention of it, or people would be defending the player.

Hysteria aside though, in the current climate... he should and will go.

So, he'll be missing at least the Saints game that we know for sure, and then maybe the Melbourne game. We'll have Hall back, but we'll be running one short like we have been for a while. All I can be thankful of is that at least we don't have the Pies in our next two games.

Let's hope he doesn't get 3 weeks

Surely he has to go....THought it looked bad at the game but seeing the replay this morning he did make some contact with the head but it wasnt as bad as i first thought...But remember Goodsey had that reprimand earlier in the season therefore hasa points hanging over him and should go for atleast a week or two....Waters for us last week got 2 and his was a simple hip and shoulder so folloing the 3 suspensions last week dished out Goodes should get atleast one...Maybe two.

Agreed, so how many does Stenglein get for the centre bounce hit that was similar except 5 metres off the ball and possibly more forceful? Amazed me that no free kick was paid for this.

Why Rancid he only got the shoulder, everybody have a good look.
The last few suspensions have been for FRONT ON contact, not a bump to the side.

he got enough of the head, unfortunately
i can't defend him, bedford, that stupid hip thing he's been doing for so long has always seemed lazy at best, and this time he's gone
especially after what's been happening the past few weeks

also, i think he hammed up the stenglein contact, he was barely touched

i compare it to shaun burgoyne, that wasn't front-on either but he went for three, this seemed as bad as that

no way burgoyne was going flat out

The main difference to the Burgoyne one is severity of impact. I don't think Goodes made particularly heavy contact - indeed, though he did go to bump, the contact was more of a brush from the bum than a true knock with the hip. Mitchell getting carried off on a stretcher didn't help Burgoyne's cause (even though I still think he was stiff to get suspended at all).

Suspect the offer will be two weeks, one if he's very very lucky.

Why is everybody worried about Collingwood in 3 weeks,st.scum this week is all that matters

Yeah, shouldn't get too ahead of myself. Guess I'm resigned to the fact he'll be missing for at least one. We should handle Melbourne without him in the second week... yet I can't help but ponder the Pies game without him =/

Btw mate, why do you hate St. Kilda so much? Or is the St. Scum thing you have going sound nastier than it's meant to?

Talk about hanging a person before the matter has been resolved....

We all know that the review panel take into account the amount of forceful contact. In those other incidents that have been mentioned, none of those players were able to take free kicks after the incidents. If people think Goodesy has hamming up the Stenglein bump, then surely Selwood must of hammed it also. Side on bump that slides from the shoulder up high or front on contact. Two very different bumps.......

Don't know about you but I hate losing to St Kilda more than I do to any other team. I can't imagine the prospect of losing to ST KILDA in SYDNEY at the SCG. That's like a triple-whammy.

And I'm fathoming a guess at bedford hating them since the Lake Oval days .. am I right bedford?

Found it linked on the main board. Thought I'd link it here, although most of you are prob sick to death of seeing it.

I hate the way we seem to play against St. Kilda, not necessarily losing to them. The last 2 or 3 games have been atrocious spectacles, we seem to bring out the worst in each other.

Rightly so you say,great supporting.

 Doesn't matter who I support. If it's there it's there, and I think he deserves to be suspended for it. If it was any other player from any other team I would think the same thing. It doesn't mean I'm not pissed off or disappointed that it was one of my favourite Swans :(

You really think he had any intention of trying to get the ball??

PS: I do play a lot of netball, maybe I am getting soft! :D

That wasn't a go at you but at the AFL,if we start suspending players for that we might as well have no contact

I really think it was intentional though. Contact didn't look too bad, but it's about the intent. In my opinion he meant to make contact to the head.
