That's pretty decent contact for "Low impact".
And isn't a strike done with your fist?
It looked more like he charged him with his forearm out.

Do you get extra demerit points awarded against you for hitting a guy from behind,and when he is not expecting contact?

That is unbelievable,I just posted on "Neitz a coward" 1 week.
All Cam Mooneys efforts last season weren't as ugly as that.
Someone will go next week for something weak and make this whole tribunal an even bigger farce.

i tend to agree, as much of a cowardly act it was, the points system must reward good records and punish bad records.

Its interesting to note that if goodes were to do exactly the same thing again, he would get 3 weeks after you factor in bad record and carry over points

yeah but it's 'where' he hit him that could've made the difference. People get hit harder most games than what Tom Lonergan got hit but he still lost a kidney. Could've slipped a disc or anything. The spinal area is not the best place to hit someone if you don't want to cause damage.
 
Funny how some of you West Coast supporters think Adam Goodes is low and yet give your undying support to Kerr (low blow against Sam Mitchell), Cousins (no comment required), and what about Judd hitting the Richmond player with the broken hand. Look I am not going to say that Goodes should be rewarded for what he did but lets face it players like Goodes and Judd get battered and hassled week in week out that they must surely get very sick of it all. Surely players of that calibre with the impeccable records that they have are allowed some lenience at their first tribunal appearance especially when you consider what other things never even get reported. By the way I am sick of all these ridiculous comments that Sydney players always get off, get over the Barry Hall incident it was a long time ago now.

A lot of knees go into people's backs in any football game, mostly in marking contests and sometimes when players dive on the ball. I still recall one by Lloyd in Ablett's black in 2005 around the HBF in an aerial contest where he had no chance of marking, but put out the knee which had Ablett writhing in agony on the ground for 5min (and the Bombers got a goal from it because they had a free man in the 50). Wasn't even looked at at the time.

It was behind play, hence why he was cited and found guilty, and I agree. A week for such a act seems about right, it was only Goodes' good record that got it down to a reprimand.
