Meh Judd wasnt even best player in his team this year, coaches award is the one that counts

If that hasn't been decided yet, Judd probably has won that already. ;)

How is the award that the players give out meaningless?

This constant dismissal of Judd on BF has become ridiculous.

What does MVP (most valuable player) actually mean? Think about it, what actually is the criteria?

Is it the most expensive? That would mean Scully
Is it the most valuable to a coach? Goodes has Judd well covered can play anywhere needed and at an elite level, Judd cant.
Is it most valuable to a club membership wise? Goodes puts bums on seats too.
Is it captain wise? Whats Judd got that Goodes hasent?

Hey Im not begrudging Judd of his MVP but Id take Goodes EVERY time.

It's the best player. That's it.

Its called the "Most Valuable Player".., Judd isnt the best player, he is the best rover in the game.. pretty much a one trick pony, and a very good trick that is..

He cant ruck, he cant mark over his head, he struggles to kick 50, he is NOT the best player.

Goodes is more valuable overall..

It's awarded to who the players judged to be the best player in 2011. No need to over complicate it. It's no different to the media awards, coaches award, Brownlow etc. Only difference between them all is who votes.

Then call it 'The Best Player' award... Goodes is more valuable and a much better player overall, so meh they still are wrong.

Im interested how it was collected.

No they weren't. Judd had a better 2011 than Goodes.
Here you go again, not loyal at all AG. Anyhow you have your opinion and i hope like most of us you are proved wrong.
Judd is a superstar and so is our man, they are different players but will be remembered as greats of the game.
What i hope is that they both tie for the "Charlie"

That I agree with.

Steady on with the claiming of disloyalty though. Big call to make over not a particularly outlandish opinion.

Its moore about whats said on the main board. There are a couple of hard nosed lads who have been banned off here ( according to Vonn ) who questioned some of our own for not sticking up for us.
I have to agree that we have to be fair to all , but when it comes down to it i would think most of us would want Goodes to win over Judd and we stick up for him.

The people you are calling wrong arent the defenders of Judd on here, but the actual players out there on the ground, who I would think have a pretty good idea of who they would most like playing beside them. That is Judd! It appears he has had a better year than Goodes, but only because he has been more consistant all year, not just the second half. Besides, there is no right or wrong with an opinion, it is just an opinion, but in this case it is the opinion of the players, which I dont think you can argue with.

I was just trying to highlight that Goodes is more valuable as a player as he can do it all at an elite level, Judd cant, hence 'More Valuable'.

If I was one of the selectors and had to pick a team and take it in turns school yard style, Goodes would be picked first every time!

Besides I was just arguing with carlton supporters for the fun of it, I have no probs really. :)

Judd has had some games this year where he's literally carried the rest of his team on his back. ie. The Royal Wedding Clash, Sydney vs Judd (No, not carlton). He also towelled us up at etihad and has had some standouts elsewhere which are bound to give him the 3 votes. Murphy has been a better player than Judd overall this year (much more consistent), has had more disposals but more importantly a DE of 73%, whereas Judd has 66% DE. Judd won the MVP on reputation alone.

Most of the players would be voting on reputation and not watching. Ask say Jude how many other games does he watch, Daisy said he doesn't watch other games, but still votes. I would think the coaches votes would carry more weight than the players and when they were stopped with about 5 rounds to go Murphy was in front of Judd, which won't make AG happy.

Craig Bird beat Chris Judd convincingly in the game at Etihad, and if Judd polls votes for it in the Brownlow, it will be a disgrace.

I would love for Goodes to be the deserved recipient of his third. Unfortunately, I think Pendlebury will more than likely win it and who I will be putting my money on.
Ablett doesn't have anybody to take votes off him, so he's a chance. Pendlebury does.

Yes but Collingwood won 20 games to Gold Coast's 3, so all that will be inconsequential. Gary Ablett will not poll many 3 votes games at all, won't even come top 5 IMO and his odds should be a lot higher than what they currently are. Think the only reason he is so short is because it is Gary Ablett.
