So we should have sacked him after straight sets in 2022? The year after we won a flag?3 years too late
But better late than never
That’s not extreme.

They blew one if not two more. Terrible waste.Dynasty teams/multiple premierships in quick time teams dont come along often. No guarantee that Melbourne would of achieved this
You can’t have dynasty teams regularly. We were pretty privileged to see hawthorn and Richmond the last decade. Geelong and Sydney have been constants. Flags are hard to win.Honestly, this has been a complete and utter waste of what should have been a dynasty team.
For whatever reason, a side stacked with talent has seemingly eaten itself alive. Clayton Oliver and Steven May are the obviously divisive personalities in that team - but a side with that much talent in the middle, including a generational ruckman, should have won at least two flags.
No disrespect to Geelong, Collingwood, Brisbane or whoever the premier will be this year, but it's not like there has been any one outstanding side that has truly taken the comp by the horns since.
North and St Kilda would be up thereAre Melbourne the worst Run club in the league.

Hope soRight call but should have gone 2 years ago. Melb get in early to select their next coach. Now what will Carlton do, panic like last time and dump Voss quickly so they don’t miss out?

They are hard to win, but IMO Melbourne 2021 was vastly more talented than whichever four premiers will come after it... and they didn't even make another prelim. You can’t have dynasty teams regularly. You’re grossly understating Brisbane and Geelong. Great lists. Balanced and coached really well. They are hard to win, but IMO Melbourne 2021 was vastly more talented than whichever four premiers will come after it... and they didn't even make another prelim.
I disagree about our list in 2022. We had a real mishmash - particularly in the midfield. Honestly, Stanley, Guthrie, an eleventy-billion-year-old Dangerfield, and an even older Selwood should not have been able to compete with Gawn, Oliver, Petracca and Viney. But we did. You’re grossly understating Brisbane and Geelong. Great lists. Balanced and coached really well.
I really rate Ash Hanson but I'm guessing Adam Simpson is a real chance .
Ok, so who are the candidates to coach Melbourne in 2026 and beyond?
Do they go for a new coach? a current assistant coach at club? or do they go for a coach that has experience that has only been out of the coach's box for a short time?
Nathan Buckley
John Longmire
Adam Simpson
Leon Cameron
Kenny Hinkley lol
Oh yes, that renowned culture builder. One obvious name missing.
James T Hird

it makes sense..At least they didn't do what my mob did and wait another TWO MORE YEARS before giving our coach the flick
continue the upwards driving culture from goody! One obvious name missing.
