I implore everyone to read through this entire thread and count how many Melbourne supporters are here posting. I've counted one. If I'm wrong, someone correct me.

This has to be the least engaged supporter base in the AFL. Maybe all their supporters are over 75?
The Melbourne Wine and Cheese Festival is not until Febuary 21st 2026 so I'm not sure.

The most successful Victorian clubs of the 21st century Geelong and Hawthorn are medium sized clubs as well ironically enough.

And both were staring down the real possibility of closing down in the mid-to-late 90s, a fact which is increasingly overlooked.

Tends to steel the character I suspect.

Both, in differing ways, have sought to create really strong geographic links.

Melbourne, on the other hand, have a membership that voted in favour of a merger in 1996 and a persistent perception that they are the adjunct of a cricket club.

It's sudden but not that unexpected.

Not sure I see the point in sacking a coach 3 weeks before the end of the season though, can someone explain that to me? Maybe they already had someone ready to take over.

It is ski season. More than likely still on the slopes.

Didn’t someone sell their House in Perth and decided on a move back to Melbourne not that long ago?

Did he? That's news to me, but I live in Melbourne now. Coincidence? We'll see.

“My sources tell me tonight that PerthBoy86 will be the next coach of the Demons after selling his place and moving to Melbourne.”

To get a head start on interviewing prospective candidates, especially if other clubs decide to make a change as well (e.g. Carlton).

So we should have sacked him after straight sets in 2022? The year after we won a flag?

That’s not extreme.

Yes
Their issues were plain to see. And since then they've just been going around the round-a-bout European Vacation style.

Chief can we get this user a new username? Currently posting as a proper liar liar with their pants well and truly on fire.

I vote for it to be “BigVic86”

Kind of rolls off the tongue better and we wouldn’t want any liars in this thread.

How is Brad Green CEO? He can’t even speak…

Ummmm…ummmmm..ummmm..ummmm..ummmm

Only time I recall that happening was with Walls and Parkin at the end of 1985 with Fitzroy and Carlton.
Walls did it again with John Northey with Richmond and the Bears in 1995
The tigers sacked him after making their first finals in 13 years
