Where are the guys that once said that the "Gooley's are probably the most promising KPP not taken in the National Draft".?
I come out and tell you that they are not and you have a go at me.
Well, come December 14, their names weren't read out in the Rookie Draft and they will be plying their trade in the Suburban Leagues next year.
As i said previously, they are the crappest people who were ever talked about being drafted.
What do the people that said they had a chance, say for themselves now?

I am curious.

davo,

I presume you are referring to me. Was and still am a big fan of the Twins. From the information I have, alot of the clubs were scared off by their long term OP. Clubs want to see them both prove they are over the injury before they commit. Now they must slowly build up in the VFL and show they are worth taking in 2005 or 2006. They have been asked to play with a VFL club and are weighing up their options.

I am curious why you refer to them as the 'Crapiest people'. Makes me think you have some personal issues you are not prepared to air.

they were both training down at carlton ...

i dont think their hearts were in it to be honest ... i mean they went to skoolies for god sakes, and i know its great to ******** it up when uve finished skool, but if they were serious about getting picked up they would have spent this week in the gym and on the track not hitting the ******** ...

reports from trusty tbv writers said they seemed like they were still on skoolies with their attitudes ... i dont think they poorerd their hearts into it ... whether it was the injury or attitude who will know ... but they have great names!!! :D

I think you are spot on about the OP concerns. They are both talented players and are unlucky not to have been rookie listed.

I was one who suggested they may be a good long term project who needed a bit of nurturing due to their OP.I have seen a fair bit of them at Grammar and have no doubt in their natural ability.

Word coming from Carlton today is that there was a huge question mark over their fitness and they were considered to not be as tall as Carlton had thought.

Clubs do their homework much better than that.
Carlton would have known their height, weight, shoe size and what they eat for breakfast to the millimetre.

They are laconic, casual characters.
Pagan wants more intensity than they displayed.

Well I am in the other camp that didn't think they were a look-in. For mine Chris just didn't hold enough marks and I put a line through him when he got his hands to it 5-6 times in the Metro-Country trial and dropped them all. At TAC level it was Tom Murphy who was doing the hard hards and Chris benefited from the relative freedom.

Sam I didn't rate because he plays poorly man-on-man. He had bags of goals kicked on him, didn't like physical footy and was at his best zoning off and playing as a loose man in defence. When Renwick Watts took him apart in the final that was that (Watts kicked poorly and Thursfield eventually shut him down).

I am also a snob when it comes to private school footy and don't rate the footy played there that highly :)

How would you have any clue mate? Gooley's are great players and great blokes who have been hampered with injury the last 3 years!! You wouldnt know what sort of pain that they were playing under and still they managed to dominate!! At least do research and get to know the in's and out's before you start making ******** comments like that - ALL OF YOU. There hearts are also in!!!! And that comment about the training intensity... thats bull********!

Not according to the coaching panel at Carlton.
They preferred to go to schoolies rather than Carlton.
When they got there they were disinterested and showed no desire to involve themselves in the group.
Players like Jesse D and Xavier Leslie gave it everything and showed what desire and hunger are about.
The Gooleys have talent and height but that isnt enough.
To quote Denis Pagan "the proof is in the pudding"
Thats why Smith is an AFL rookie now and the Gooleys are nobody.

The final result displays how uninformed your post is.
