The Crows put a bid in on Alex Davies, from GCS Academy.
Isn't part of the open draft because it was assumed Gold Coast would list him straight up IRL, either is Joel Jeffery or Brodie Lake AFAIK

Even with potential list reductions? And GCS having 41 contracted players?

I assume they'll struggle to prelist all of these players.

But they'd probably be able to prelist Davies.

I'll pick again for the Adelaide Crows and take WIL PARKER.

Drafting him as a utility - not sure whether he's a mid yet or what else he can offer once he's focused on footvball fulltime and in an elite environment. Dad also works for the little brother, so good for the LOLs.

PICK 26 - RICHMOND - HEATH CHAPMAN - WEST PERTH FALCONS - W.A - 193CM - 81 KG

With Richmond having only 2 more picks, this is a needs based pick. With Ben Miller on the list learning how to become an Astbury type player and Noah Balta trying to become a Rance type player whilst they have Ryan Garthwaite learning the role of Grimes. Im not sure balta or garthwaite can make it which leaves a giant hole in the defense for the future unless they recruit now for that position. Balta could become an AA or end up delisted, Garthwaite is a good, solid back up but not afl standard yet, and may never be. Richmond need another developing defender or two to learn from the current crop.

So here at pick 26 Richmond select Heath Chapman.

Heath Chapman is a great 1 on 1 defender, a great reader of the play and ball flight also leaving his man to intercept or defend the ball over the line. He can link up play, switch well, spread well to help in defensive structures and is efficient by hand or foot. As an under ager in the WAFL colts for the Falcons he played across the back averaging, 20 disp, 4.5 marks, 3.5 tackles with a kick to handball ratio of almost 2:1.

He is smart in his movement and body position and spatially aware. Heath played in the futures game on Grand Final day and was one of the best defenders on the day. His athleticism showed with his spin out of trouble and his intercept mark was beautifully read. I see Richmond having him take over the Grimes role that we all know. Another point i would like to add is that we all know Richmond love a good W.A defender.

Pick 27. Brisbane Lions

Harry Sharp. 184cm. 70kg.
Greater Western Victoria Rebels.

Brisbane is missing an out and out winger from its midfield. Preferring to play balanced, or even contested mids on the outside.

With this pick Brisbane is looking to address this need.

Harry Sharp is not your typical winger who avoids contact, despite a two to one uncontested to contested possession count.

Sharp is willing to put his body on the line, and play the team orientated game that coach Chris Fagan asks of his outside players.

From an elite athletics background, Sharp is an endurance athlete who topped last years yo yo test as an under ager player at the NAB league preseason testing day. But also possesses genuine speed to beat opponents on the outside.

Sharp does need to work on his kicking, but this not a big weakness in the Brisbane system.

Missing out on this year’s elite KPF and ruck talents, Brisbane was happy to move the second of its first round picks in to next years draft, in the hope of securing a KPP next year, while upgrading this year’s third round selection to a second round selection, used to fill a position of need.

The Adelaide Crows draft ZAC DUMESNY.

Skilled, mostly outside. Good size. We'd probably look to him to be a wingman longterm.
