Similar player to our first selection in 2019 in Lachlan Ash, although with more potential to develop into a midfielder at the next level. Like Stone he doesn't do much wrong with the ball or even without it, consistency could do with some improvement but I'm happy taking a punt on that being due to the role/ underage position in the squad rather than a genuine issue.

As mentioned I think he's similar to Lachie Ash with more midfield and forward potential.

Strengths are plentiful, really like his kicking and hand skills, takes the game on as well.

TheSmythe up with Richmond

Also considered: Cody Raak, Nick Stevens, Josh Treacy, Josh Clarke

That doesn’t seem right
I suggest you run the numbers, this is what I got and I used a calculator. 20% of pick 53 is 178. Then if you minus picks 64 and 66 you end up with -3 or 3 in favour of Essendon, which equals nothing.

PICK 55 - RICHMOND - ANGUS BAKER - CANBERRA - 191CM - 88KG

With our first 2 picks i went with some top end talent to develop, now im getting a ready made, but still very young, plug and play kid. With lists having to get shorter, a clubs depth has to be ready to play if there are injuries. Baker will fit the Richmond game plan and if anything happens to Vlaustin or Houli he will be there to play straight away and eventually take over from Houli upon retirement.

😂, bids after 18 are a flat 198 point reduction, not 20%...

Doesn’t work that way from second round and back.

Picks receive a standard discount of 198.

Amazing value so late.

Can’t believe Byrne and Clarke slid in to the 50’s.

No one must need rebound defenders, or small defenders who can match up on small forwards.

Happy with the slide from both my picks in this tbh, some real average players getting taken before them as well but ah well, who am I to judge

PICK 73 - RICHMOND - MAURICE RIOLI JNR - ST MARYS/OAKLEIGH CHARGERS - 177CM - 71KG

Im putting this here because no matter if a bid comes in from this point in time, we match, and if a bid does not come in, here is Richmonds last pick of this draft

Since 2017, through amping up their tackle and pressure game led by their lightning-quick forward mosquito fleet, Hardwick's Tigers have scored more points from turnovers than any other team.
This is what makes Maurice Jr and Richmond — the team which has explicitly prioritized forwards whose primary instinct is tackling over goal kicking — a match made in heaven. As an under ager he has already played in the NTFL premier League and averages 1 goal per game. For the NT in the NAB league he played 3 games and averaged 11 disposals and 6.3 tackles. Richmond will love that stat, as well as he wins almost twice as much contested ball than uncontested.
Maurice has already shown he can do both. He kicks goals and creates them, flashing the exquisite skill, innate awareness and unfailing sense of the big occasion that defines the AFL's greatest footballing family. 4 goals in the NTFL prelim shows he is a big game ready player. At AFL level he will take a while to get going, get into the weights, learn the game plan, settle down, earn his spot build his body.....but Richmond will wait patiently and help him all the way.
He barracks for the Tigers, where Daniel, his cousin plays and has already expressed his interest in playing for them.
The Tiger army has been waiting for this, and now i get to deliver him to them.

Pick 56 - Geelong - Jackson Cardillo (Calder Cannons) 185cm/77kg

Another forward talent comes into Geelong, a player with x-factor and speed would have fans licking their lips. Cardillo would have to be on of the quickest players in this draft crop, and running a 2.88 20m sprint at the nab league testing day confirms that. Some players run quick times on the gym floor but dont know how to use their speed in game, Cardillo is not of those. He's quite noticeable on the field running forward or chasing down opposition. Not only is he quick, Cardillo also has a great ability to win contested ball (over half his possessions were contested in 2019 nab league) which sets him apart from other players with the same skillset. At a good size of 185cm there is potential for him to develop a damaging midfielder once his body matures, his ability to win the ball then burst away from a stoppage would provide Geelong with a real weapon. Cardillo is usually clean with ball in hand and shows great composure and likes to bring teammates into the play. He uses his speed to his advantage to put pressure on opposition defenders, tackling is a strength of his and i see him beginning his career in the senior side as a pressure forward. Cardillo and Henry on the flanks for geelong is a tantalising thought.

Don't forget, a certain Joel Jeffrey is theoretically pre-listed by the Suns. Very much a talented back flanker and fits their needs well.
You think h'll play back flank in the AFL?
Kicked 29 goals from 13 games in NTFL this year.

Would love him on the Suns. He and Lukosius seem like they could be swing players to some degree.
