I got a question that I need answered. With over $130k in the bank, where should I upgrade?

Here are my options.
Defenders: Surjan -> Carrazzo/Duffield
Ruck: Naitanui -> Cox
Mids: Goodes -> Chapman/Swan/Montagna/Goddard/Boyd
Forwards: Roughead/LeCras -> Didak/Johnson

I'm leaning towards trading Goodes for one of those 5, but which one??

Dont trade Goodes, he will come good at some point. Surjan to Duffield or Naita to Cox are the trades I would make.

Re: Rookie Elevation

Are there set dates when new rookie elevations may take place? Or can clubs elevate whenever they want as long as they meet a set criteria?

For some reason I thought Round 11 was an important Rookie elevation time?

Following the conclusion of Round 11, AFL clubs can now upgrade a rookie anytime until the Tuesday before Round 22 (subject to meeting TPP requirements).

wasnt really sure where to post this so Ill do it here.

With the Split round coming up, we will have another partial lockout therefore having another shot at the captian loop-hole. With guys like Ablett, Swan, Hayes, Montagna all playing in the second week, it could make sense to give a guy like Stanton, Hodge, Mitchell, Barlow, Sandi, etc. the VC for the first week.

Anyway my question is how do you not actually select a capt. Ive tried to take it off this week and not pick one at all, therefore only having your VC named. Anyone know how to do this?:thumbsu:

Unsure, but you could just move the captaincy onto someone who is not going to play?

Someone needs to refresh me on how to use the loophole :(

basically, you pick someone as ur VC and if they score well, u either dont pick a capt, or u pick someone whos not playing. And if they dont score well, u just pick a player as capt whos playing the second week:thumbsu:

ahh, clever. Maybe Hodge as VC..

EDIT: How do i NOT pick a captain?

Anyone know why Mitch Brown missed rounds 4, 7 and 8 this year? Are they all through suspension or injury as well?

Dropped. He's played WAFL when dropped and no ongoing injury concerns as far as we know.

Avoid if you can, his job security is not too flash.

But wouldnt that mean you would have to cop a 0?
Just put someone not playing on the field captain and put the person you took off for him as emergency. As far as I know your emergency for your captain doesnt become captain your vice captain does.
I might do it seeing as Swan didnt score well against Melbourne rd1 and if it is going to pour down I wouldnt want him captain when Bartel is playing Essendon.

How do i NOT pick a captain?

would like to know as well.

Lets assume you have Barlow playing first week, Swan playing second week. Lets also assume you have Dylan McNeil, and assume Sydney play in the second week.

You pick Barlow as your VC, Swan as your C.

Round 1 comes around and Barlow scores 150.

To remove the captaincy from Swan, substitute Swan with McNeil, and then put Swan as an emergency. McNeil now becomes captain

So;

Barlow (VC) McNeil (C) CTR1 CTR2 CTR3 CTR4 - Swan (E) CTR5

Captain McNeil scores 0 so Vice Captain Barlow has his score doubled.

"Your captain scores double points. You can also select a vice captain - your vice captain will score double points ONLY if your captain is a late withdrawal or doesn't play for any reason (eg. gets a score of 0)."

Swans' score covers McNeil's 0.

"Emergencies from your reserves list will replace up to three non-scoring players in your starting line-up in matching positions only."

Why not just put Barlow VC and Swan Capt and than if Barlow smashes a score that your happy with than just put the Captain onto Mcneil, who hopefully wont play.

Are you able to put emergencies captain or not? maybe not thinking of that now

I dont think there will be a loop hole as such. Round 1 there was because you could still trade players out that you didnt want. This split round may mean locking away a capt and VC from the start.

I might not trying use the loop hole system this time.

It would be good if VS could give us a better explanation towards this issue.

Are you able to put emergencies captain?

No, the Captain option is disabled for any bench player, it's just S T E

I'm fairly sure there's no disadvantage to using the 'loophole'. Take my first scenario, where you start off the round with Swan captain and Barlow vice captain. If the captain choices are locked, then you've got your first choice as captain anyway. If your first choice captain was playing in the first week though, and then you decided to name the preferred captain as VC, then you will have a problem if captain choices are locked.
