Why should Australian's be concerned about this when they don't give a stuff about Bali?
They were looking for suspects in a 1990 Chevy Caprice. They found a father and son team sleeping in one at a rest stop. They haven't released whether or not they are official suspects as shooters, but when they arrested them, the cops were wearing a hell of a lot of armor.
The cops are in the process now of obaining a search warrant to search the car.
The rest stop was off of I-70 in Maryland. I live just off of I-70 but a couple of thousand miles away. Not in rifle range.

Unlike your racist self, I'm sure the police just arrested the people whom the evidence pointed to being suspects.
These are the two suspects, John Allen Muhammad (42) and stepson John Lee Malvo (17). Muhammad was ex-military and a veteran from the Gulf War (surprise, surprise). Montgomery Police Chief John Wilson said Thursday that there were "some very good similarities" between Malvo and a composite sketch of the attacker in the September 21 shooting.
Authorities said Thursday they had made a match between a fingerprint lifted from the scene and Malvo. But Wilson said the weapon used in the Montgomery shooting is not the same one -- a .223-caliber rifle -- used in the shootings in Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia.
he/they evade police and the public for three weeks then just fall asleep at a public rest stop in a car that has been plastered over tv(make, model, colour and rego) for the past 24 hours? not a chance. they may have info but i'd be stunned if that was the case.

It does seem they were stupid.The sniper confessed over the phone to someone that he killed someone in a robbery two weeks before the sniper attacks started.Police have matched fingerprints from that robbery to the sniper.
