Autopsy Got there in the end - Swans def Blues

The Blues were heavily drawing on the passing of Walls and there is a certain feel of spoiling that reverence.

However when you are battling emotion charged football if you stick to your guns and never give in you deserve your win. Great last quarter

I was negative in the game day thread and feel pretty justified but I’m just going to go ahead and enjoy this one regardless.

The Amartey bump was a bit of a shame but even worse was JMac attempted another at that same contest after the one to Silvagni. Come on learn mate.

Been saying for years that when our mids are the major ball winners we win more compared to when our half backs do
Yep brought in Sheldrick for Florent and we were like -30 marks +23 tackles and the mids got much more of it. If Heeney could kick the thing we would have won by 30

I suspect Paton will return (unless we rush Mills back). Would put Hamling back and play Buller myself.
Agreed think Hamling in defence and Buller up forward alongside McLean and Ladhams is a better combo than Snell/Paton down back and Hamling McLean and Ladhams up forward

Gritty win but boy was that hard to watch. Dunno why it seems we need a rocket up the bum to start taking care of the footy.

Sheldrick was outstanding. Still a little rough around the edges but the game was built perfectly for him. Challenge will be his legs on the bigger grounds in cleaner conditions.

Shout-out to Ladhams, played a bit part but loved his intent.

Roberts needs to take a step back to basics. Can't keep burning unpressured kicks. What worries me though is it seems like he has poor awareness, gets caught and snuck up on without any idea in the world too often. He's too good for vfl but just needs to take a breath.

Squad for next week is going to be interesting. Hamling to defence and buller in for Amartey would be my call. Don't think we can carry both McLean and ladhams, so would go for one or the other not really fussed, McLean maybe the one with better goal kicking ability. Would seriously consider Mills straight in along with Adams.

If jmac is rubbed out I'll be fuming. Would only be a week but to cop a combined 4 weeks for such innocuous incidents is a farce.

Roberts can find the ball but his disposal is so much worse than it was last year.

As for Rampe he is a shadow of his former self. I think he only got something like 10 disposals today as well.

I think he needs to be managed but can contribute.

Roberts belongs but yeah current form is a worry

Apparently both shouldn’t have played in the middle tonight according to one expert on here….
They got the ratio right will be interesting how Mills goes in the midfield as I think they can just put JJ on the wing for McInerney and then Mills can play from the back of stoppages. Also Mills can do run with roles as well

  • Desperately needed win, ordinary first 3 qtrs really good last one. We're a much different team when we have some pace and the ball and play with some intent...can't be uptempo all game obviously but surely we can play like that before it starts getting desperate.
  • Heeney and Chad played the superstar games to carry us home. McCartin's shut down job again was huge, had a good 3 weeks. Grundy 2nd half was enormous. Last qtr most were good though.
  • Touch and go with some of those bumps, but maybe stop doing them...can't afford to keep having players suspended on-top of all injuries.
  • We either have to play with pace on the ball for much longer, if we keep playing conservatively for long patches we need to get some forwards in that forward line...even if it means giving a Buller a go. Looked absolutely impotent for the first 3 qtrs and were well beaten.

Then a guy like Rowbottom is your 5th or 6th mid and can have impact with less pressure and attention.

You have 300% Midfield time in theory right across 3 mids

Heeney Chad Rowbottom Sheldrick Mills

All get 50-55% midfield time and then you would have 20-30% time for others
