Enjoyed the second episode.

Oswald is a bit of a campaigner, holding that poor bloke hostage in the trailer . Was interested in the storyline about the man and woman kidnapping homeless children, and had a good ending with Selina/Cat revealing she knows who really killed the Waynes.
 
Thought Ben Mckenzie was more relaxed as Jim Gordon this week. Wouldn't be an easy thing to take on with the knowledge you'll get torn to shreds by every Batman fan on Gods green earth.

Like the Riddler popping in, weird **** that he is

I was saying the same thing last night, the cabs are 50/60s, the penguin was in an SUV, there were mobile phones and Glocks etc.....

I can kinda understand with the decor of the club, the police station is a little outdated (as comparison to other cop shows). The outside landscape looks like modern day New York.

Just watched the pilot. Plenty to work with here. McKenzie seems OK for the most part, but does tend to head into the forced area when playing angry. As much as we'll see a bit of poor acting, we'll also probably get some unearthed talent out of the show with all the unknowns. The Penguin and Riddler actors already look very capable and interesting to watch.

Not sure I get the cheap look comments. Had a very cinematic feel from my POV, some really nice shots and a consistent look and feel to Gotham. Seems like the producers know what they're doing and once it finds its feet it'll be pretty solid television.
 
Loving this show.

Every time I look at the penguin character he reminds me of Steven O'Donnell from Good Game on ABC.

Watched the second ep last night and still pretty impressed with it.

Really hope they try and tone down Alfred's character (still comes across as too hard - maybe I'm just used to Michael Caine's version haha).

Seems like they are setting up a few different story arcs - would expect Cobblepot's eventual return to Gotham, the hunt for the true killer of the Waynes and the brimming war with Fish Mooney, Falcone and the other rival mobsters will all progress as the season continues.

Really liking Donal Logue and his Bullock portrayal. Favourite character on the show for mine :thumbsu:
 
I'd have to agree with Alfred being over done.

As for the story arc, they should try to spread it out further, in my opinion, we are seeing so many villains way to early for a show that I'd like to see run a few more season. Unlike TMNT, and Transformers, there are many more baddied in this show.

This episode, was meant to be about Catwoman, but she did feature in much of the first half of the episode. Which I found strange.

The episode wasn't meant to revolve around Catwoman. It was meant to give an insight into her character, which I thought the episode fulfilled that while keeping the whole case interesting.

The little bits by Fish Mooney and Penguin were great too.
 
Not sure with this is already known in the batman universe or not but do you think the partnership with bullock and his willingness to cross the line and get the job done no matter what (not the corrupt part) softens jim Gordons for batman where he deems batman a necessity to do what the police can't do for the good of Gotham.

Thought came to me when bullock was phonebooking the chemist guy and jim just stood back and let him do it.

Quite the enigma.

BTW, I always assumed that Coleman Reese from The Dark Knight was a nod to the Riddler.

Mr. Reese = mysteries?
 
I am really enjoying the show. One thing i was a bit unsure on was Alfred, however i did some reading and the explanation is that in one of the stories/universes/comics his character is much harsher and that is the tone that the show was going for.

Not sure i like it but then again he has had a total screen time of 5 mins and im still comparing him to Caine. I think ill learn to like it just need to get the Nolan trilogy out of my head before watching it.
