They'll be up there again next year.

According to the News;
In: Jason Eagle (Broadbeach), Justin Carey (Albury), Dan O’Reilly, Cam Calder (Katandra), Ash Quinn (Nathalia), David Gillespie (Shepparton East), Brent Arho (Tallygaroopna), Steve Scott (Waaia)
Out: Pierce Liddle (Darwin), Mat Pianto (Castlemaine), Dan Connors (Aberfeldie), John Woodcock, Matt Waight (basketball)

ooops:) (if you've read todays shepp news)
Murray Bombers would be dissappointed if they didn't play finals again with Buckley signing on, plus others returning. Will have the best midfield running around. Another key defender and they could really climb up the ladder.

the best mid-field?? - thats a big call with the calibre of players signing on all around, would suggest that between the top sides there will be more close matches and the "DRAW" itself will largely influence final standings.

Murray Bombers would be disappointed if they didn't play finals this year on the back of recruiting Buckley, plus several other players returning to the club. Will have possibly the best midfield running around. If they could snag another defender they could really climb the ladder.

Archard will have to play forward for them to kick enough goals so you can't put him down as a midfielder. They need a big key forward to push the top couple of teams IMO.

Have just read the posts on previous page re amount clubs spend on players.
What effect would a Points System have in major leagues such as the GV. The now defunct VCFL were considering making such a system compulsory across the state. I dont know what the situation is now under the new admin.

Truth is if all members and punters were exposed to player payments etc... the whole thing would fall apart. You just can't justify it can you? One membership at $100 is not even enough to pay for a quarter of a player per game. 10 members at that rate pays for one game at $1000 per game. Membership is not the answer. Someone posted the way forward earlier - a benefactor!!! How precious "hey guys is $100,000 to play with"
That is what is needed.

What a load of crap

Are you even involved in a footy club?

Membership and all fundraising activities and any way you can make money is the answer

Hows the league looking for 2013...still the best in Victoria! :)
Looks we're gonna go undefeated at Seymour, A graders right through the list.
Xavier 'the beast' McMahon has been tracking well, expect him to crunch a few bodies in the ruck this year. :thumbsu: Also Will 'Vladimir' Brock is set for a big year coming up from the under 18's. It'll be like having Mumford and Sandilands in the one team :thumbsu:

Euroa a pure failure!!

You are no longer funny champ

Best country league? Watched Geelong's best five teams, O and M's best five teams, some of Ballarat's (Redan/Sunbury) and they all compared more favorably than the GV's. Also saw the bottom end of the three leagues - GV's the weakest!! Don't think that winning the rep footy with yes - the best 25 rep players makes it the best comp. It gives you the best rep team only. GV simply not the best league. That'll stir the pot :)

How would you determine the best country league other than the Rep games?
Perhaps a rep side based on the "State of Origin" idea, that is must have played junior footy in that league.
Rep sides can simply reflect the amount of money available in each league and the proximity to a large population.
Maybe leagues could call on players playing in other country leagues.
Just a thought.
