The Red Cross are particularly picky when it comes to blood donations..

been knocked back twice now over the past 18 months or so because I haven't been able to answer all the questions regarding my sexual partners...

do you want my blood or not? The last blood test I had at the GP was all clean, so what's the problem?

They are terrified of the early AIDS cases of hemophiliacs after receiving transfusions resurfacing with something new, which obviously would come from sex with prostitutes, homosexual sex or from getting a tattoo.

It's probably arguable that sex workers would be more vigilant and healthier than someone you're likely to pick up at the pub, because, you know.. it's their job...

I disagree with this, plenty of sex workers have un protected sex with clients and non clients. I reckon the chance of getting from sex worker from any are be it street or brothel or other, the chances are still the same at minimum as getting it from the local pub or night club.

I've lost some friends to it, it's a shit of a disease and in the early days when it was the druggies, ****s and Haitians who got it, not much of a shit was given. There was the old joke; What's the hardest thing to convince your wife if you catch AIDS? That you're actually Haitian.

I would highly recommend it. Its about a guy who gets aids from sex with a drug addict in the early 80's. he finds out that western medicine isn't interested in treating aids, its controlled by pharmaceuticals interested only in profit. So he goes elsewhere and the FDA spend their time trying to stop him. he spends his time bringing real medicine to many afflicted with aids. He was given a few months to live, sought alternative medicine and lived nearly 15 years.
