I'm a huge Johncock fan, but is he starting to believe the media hype surrounding the bulk of his season to date?

Was very sloppy again today, got caught HTB in the back-50 which directly cost a goal in the first quarter and Jeff Farmer rode rough shod over him all day, booting 3 and giving off a couple of others.

Reminiscent of Chad Cornes in FIGJAM mode - low concentration, questionable workrate and zero accountability.

Hopefully the past few weeks have just been a blip, a symptom of our below-par performances as a whole.

Not a great game for Stiffy but remember he was very good last week against Collingwood.

Farmer was the perfect match up for him and Stiffy didn't get the chance to run out of defence like he normally does.

All top players are allowed below par games every now and then. He'll bounce back.

He's been below par for the past month. He was not very good last week against the Pies, his last quarter was respectable but I wouldn't say he was anywhere near his best. His form is way, way off. I don't know whats happened.

More likely it's that you're a terrible poster who never donates anything useful to a discussion but just takes pot-shots. It's people like you, eagles_girl and F-U who give Eagles supporters the arrogant nickname.

We'll agree to disagree about his game against Collingwood.

I think the opposition teams are starting to pay a lot more respect to Stiffy and are making him run deep into their forward lines, therefore making it harder for him to run through the midfield like he was doing so well and so often previously.

Other things that have happened to Stiffy in the last month are that he did have a corky that worried him and he has certainly missed Andrew McLeod's presence alongside him.

Don't worry though, he is good enough to produce his best when it counts in the finals. Watch him go.

damn, wheres my netiquette, im sorry.

Yeah, Stiffy's form has dropped way off. His strength is usually his decision making, but was ordinary in this respect today. Lacked accountability too. How much do we miss the leadership of Bassett/Hart!

Does anyone else think that Stiffy seriously struggles with the kick in duties? Considering you can now play on straight away, his kick ins seem quite slow, and sometimes to a a difficult contest.

I'd also think he'd be more valuable running around the 50m/centre from the kickin to get the ball moving forward?

Stiffy's kickins for the year have been usually very good at ensuring us quick clearances. Different story today though.

Stole my thunder once again DT.

What you didn't mention was his decison making in the past 3 weeks - god damn awful. and from a player regarded as our best decision maker. :o

A long with 21 others his form slump along with the teams seems to go hand in hand.

We have lost that superior run out of defence of which he was the skipper.

I think you'll find that has something to do with A.McLeod. Today was obviously his first game back, so I think you should expect to see a bit more run next week.
