Watching the grand final as a finals loser is a difficult experience.

It's like hearing that your ex-girlfriend who you once thought was the one is getting married. To some surf board riding douchebag who does Ace Ventura impressions in his spare time, in between winning Brownlows and captaining premierships.

Meanwhile our minor premiership yielded just as many finals victories as our 7 year September drought.

Remember the good times? Upgrading to Gold memberships... trying to find out your membership barcode. Fleeting.

Thank goodness for Brisbane. Their presence makes this event just watchable. An all-Victorian fap fest would have been unbearable.

Mind you, if they fall more than 2 goals behind at any stage I'm switching off.

Ended up being lucky to get tix under both Lions and AFL membership so looking forward to the big game. Always say that if the game is still in the balance at 3/4 time it’s at least a decent game and possibly much more (2023).

Desperately hope Lions win and they have been my flag tip for the last half of the season. And they are playing great footy with 5 ish first team players still out. Huge depth and that’s before Allan, Draper and Annable come in. Get ready for all QLD GFs this decade…

I want Brisbane to win and think its possible but you can never write off the Cats

Geelong definitely favourites but Brisbane have been there 3 years in a row. Wouldn’t surprise me if they get out of the blocks early before Geelong knows what hit them.

On paper, Geelong, but wouldn’t be surprised to see another Brisbane demolition.

Either way, happy it’s not Hawks and Collingwood as their fans would have been insufferable. Even if Geelong win, they’ve been so successful what’s one more? Might finally put pressure on the AFL to stop them rorting the salary cap (ok not going to happen).

Hoping for a Brissie win. They seem a lot more banged up than Geelong but by the same token I think their best is better. Going to be a fascinating match up.

Over here in the US, it'll be the annual pilgrimage to the local Aussie themed pub to knock back some pies and Coopers Ales in a room packed with other expats. Imagine the hill at AO crammed into a pub. The place never fails to go off singing the anthem.

I'm not really fussed who wins though, just hope it's a close game. These two teams have been the best all year so should be a good contest. But you just never know in a GF, there is often a big win once a team gets up by a few.

Geelong were impressive after Hawthorn jumped them early, while Brisbane have been a lot better since the QF.

After the retirement of Daniher I thought Brisbane might lack firepower, but they've managed and their rookie forward (#22) can clunk a mark.

They should play Reville and not risk Berry (who is ordinary anyway).
I'm sure Neale wants to play, but no way if he isn't fully fit.

Geelong probably, but Brisbane are good enough for an upset.

I just can't see past Smith, Holmes and Dangerfield dominating in this one. They as a team control the ball and tempo so well and are very hard to bust open. Hope i am wrong but i could see a 7 to 8 goal win to the cats here...especially if brisbane gamble on neale with that calf of his and it backfires early

They won’t fold, they’ll fight it, but at the end of the day, the decision will be left with the courts. Assuming it happens of course.
