Unfortunately looks like another wasted year. It's all fine and good to beat the rest of the league cos they're trash but we still havent learnt how to beat norf.

Norf are clearly miles more talented. Starce so good he helps get us there when we have had a massive talent gap the last 2 years.

The telling point is that we have a good team, better than most of the comp, North have a great team, far better than the rest. There are probably only two or three of our players who would make their team, Dawes, Ellinger maybe, possibly Koenen. Mullins maybe a chance as a developing player. Not many others though if you look at it objectively.

We have to probably do something of a mini rebuild, the forward line needs work. Our midfield looks reactive. There is a lot of work to do. Perhaps letting Smith and Boltz go for good picks and go hard at quality players plus the best of academy girls.

Dawes led the way and just tried so hard. A few others needed that desperation.

Starce elevates our group. We have been up against a team who has lost far fewer players than us and recruited a 2x AA who was their BOG today, during the offseason.

Starce is magnificent.

They were clearly the second best side this year. Just way behind North.

Falling down the ladder won't help with any draft picks in the AFLW. The only way to be competitive with North would be to recruit 5 of the best players in the league and that won't happen.

The panel postgame said the lions may lose some players this offseason which will help the struggling teams. No mention of Norf. It’s awful for the comp that there are 17 uncompetitive teams. It’s arguably bad that we have been as consistently good as we have. But having a team that hasn’t lost since I was but a young boy is a disaster!

Jade was BOG for us imo. Every good bit of ball movement came from her.

Gamestyle wise this was a much better effort from us compared to last year. The aggressive switch into the corridor in the second half felt like it actually gave Norf trouble. Just don’t have the players to execute it all the time and the forwards weren’t good enough to win contests individually.

I understand this perspective but don’t agree with it. Our team is fine, albeit I hope we can get some players in to fill some gaps across the ground. Particularly in the midfield.
