Hi everyone,

I have question. Im coming to Melbourne for Grand Final weekend, im travelling with a mate if mine - he is a Geelong supporter and I go for Richmond.

Regardless if our teams make the GF, we want to go to the game. When do GF tickets get released to purchase and can they be purchased online as normal through ticket-tek.

I think for the GF there is an allocation...such as for members supporters and others etc and i highly doubt my friend and I could get tickets by just going to the MCG on the day and buying them at the gate (general admission). Any help is appreciated.

Also...how much for a GF ticket?

Ive been to the footy heaps of times but the GF is a bit different due to allocation etc.

Can anyone assist?

Cheers.

My mate texted me and said 11am (Melb time) on Tuesday before GF - General Admission tickets are released.

But its at 9am on Tuesday (Melb time) when Grand Final Participants members get access before general public

Sorry but there is no general admission access to the grand final.

Your mate is thinking of the semi and prelim finals, although I believe tickets come out on a Monday, not Tuesday.

If we cant get tickets then all good. Our accomodation is booked, our aircraft is booked, we fly to Melbourne on Friday morning (day before GF). The Grand Final parade would be good to go to and on that Friday night there is a race meeting at Moonee Valley. So whatever happens it will be a good few days. I love Melbourne akd it will be my friend's first time to Melbourne.

The only way I could possibly imagine general admission tickets going on sale would be if it were GWS vs West Coast, Port Adelaide or Sydney.

Can anyone remember, but I THINK that for one of the 2005/2006 grand finals a very small amount of GA tickets were made available as the sales were not very high.

There will be plenty of ways to soak up the atmosphere and enjoy the weekend even without going to the game :) I love Melbourne in September yet have never had the means of going to the GF.

Don't recall those years, but there would never be general admission, it would still be reserved seating.

Mate unless you buy corporate tickets which are around 2 grand you ain't going to the GF. I am surprised you think it is that easy. There is no public sale for the GF.

There's always a way to get tickets, if you can afford them. People sell tickets to either a) turn a profit or b) something comes up and they no longer can attend. You'll pay anywhere from a few hundred to 1500 for these though.

btw If I could get a spare ticket or two I'd happily sell it at face value to you. They're hard to get though and I'll struggle to get one for my old man. The minute chance I do get a hold of some and i'd say that minute chance is about one in a million, I'll happily get them for you.

one in a million, so I'm saying there's a chance. YES!
