Grand final tickets

He saw the ad i put on e-bay looking for a ticket; rang me explaining he had a G.A tix avail for sale. He met me outside of the ground 2 hrs b4 the start with 2 tix and 2 passouts ( i guessing he "borrowed one off a mate") He walks me back in, all the time holding said passes but doesn't give the passouts back to the attendant (some deal going on with the attendant possibly??) I give him $150 and the deal is done. I could've done a runner i s'pose but hey i was just happy to be inside. He could have done this a few times a guess. Read in the paper next day that someone got caught in a ticket scam at the GF. Maybe it was him? Either way he's richer, i'm at the game and the AFL who doesn't allocate us enough tickets anyway, loses.

Last year I managed to purchase a ticket through one of the official ticket resellers (official scalpers that is..).

I went outside to checkout the vibe out there, and collected my passout on the way out. I saw some unhappy / sad / hopeless looking people looking for tickets, so I decided to give them my passout.

On the way back into the ground, I presented the gate official with my ticket, expecting to be let back in no problems even without the passout. Unfortunately they don't actually let you back in unless you have a ticket and the passout. They know whether you have been inside already due to the barcoding / scanning technology that is used at the ground.

Much pleading later I was granted access back into the ground, and after that I've decided not to be so generous again in future. So much for doing a good deed to help someone out.

That's the aim of the passout though - it gets you back in. Otherwise why have it at all?

You have to be careful with the wording of your request and expect it to be taken down once or twice but i got quite a few calls mostly for expensive packages or seats on top level for $600+ until i got the call that made it worthwhile at 11pm the night b4. I tell you though i've never been so nervous in my whole life waiting to get through that gate on G.F day. I wanted to hug the guy . It made the Prelim final feel like a stroll through the park. The first 5 beers barely touched the sides After that i took Bombers advice and stayed sober long enough to enjoy the day! And drive to 100kms Geelong and back the next day to saviour it all again.
