Selling system is confirmed.

* Dees/Roos winner tix will be sold at the G.
* Ess/Carl winner tix will be sold at Colonial.

No other outlets or phone bookings.

Ian Collins was out the front of Colonial this morning when I staked my place in line and he said that there will not be any camping out allowed. Hired goons are and will patrol the area.

Colonial have setup a book system split into Essendon and Carlton members (if you have a chair in line and you are a Dees/Roos fan - you've lucked out - go pick up you're chair and move it to the MCG).

As of this morning when I was there, there already was over 100 in the EFC queue book and only a few in the Carlon one. And about 150 chairs total.

Was told that Colonial will start out handing the queue tickets on Friday morning to those already in the book and anyone who rocks up from that point.

Can update this info a bit after just coming home from Colonial.

Colonial wanted to give 'Queue tickets' this morning but the AFL put their foot down and said no 'Queue tickets' till after the game Saturday.

Not to piss off the people already queued up (both Ess & Carl) they agreed to honour the queue list and chair order if 'we' agreed to pay the wages of 2 Chubb Goons to patrol the areas and tell anyone who turns up between now and Saturday after the game to head to the back of the queue. What cheek from Colonial - but the money was raised in a flash.

So be fore warned - queue up down there before the info gets officialy released to the public in Friday's paper when it may be all too late.

Do you know where AFL members reserved seats will be sold? Not that I'm counting chickens

I think the AFL Members reserve (full members ONLY) will be sold on Sunday at the MCG. Be careful of which queue you get into though because North Melbourne/Melbourne priority members will also be collecting their Grand Final tickets at the G on Sunday.

They had an advert in the Herald-Sun about it the other day (a tiny thing, gotta look carefully for it).

Hope that helps.

Shinboners,

I'm an AFL member, and I'm picking up my GF tickets on Sunday at my local ticketmaster. It's at Werribee Plaza shopping centre.

I did this last year. I'll probablty turn up at about 4:00 am and wait for 5 hours.

The outlets that sell tickets to AFL members are different to the outlets for club members.

Unless I've been misinformed.

Not wanting to be a pessimist but I remember the plans that my friends were all making in 1997 about lining up for Grand Final tickets.

The sad thing is that these friends were all bulldogs/kangaroo supporters and gave no thought about their sides losing the preliminary final.

I realise that you have to plan ahead to line up for tickets but don't be too presumptuous yet.

That's why my original post was completed with "not that I'm counting chickens". Also, as an AFL member, even if my team doesn't get in I can still go, though it's debatable as to whether I will.

Dave,

Where are you lining up for your AFL member tickets ?? I was under the impression they get sold from heaps of DIFFERENT ticketmaster outlets all across Melbourne on Sunday.

That's how it was last year.

Dan - just got off the blower with Ticketmaster and the AFL. What's happened is that the AFL have told Ticketmaster they can only have a certain number of outlets open in each area because they (the AFL) have not been happy with the level of competance of some of the ticketmaster outlets. You'll be ok, Werribee's on the list, but my local one isn't, so (god willing) if we get in I'll be travelling elsewhere.

Dave

I just went through town today and the Ticketmaster on Exhibition Street (near the corner with Lonsdale Street) will be selling tickets for AFL FULL Members on SUNDAY. People have been marking their places in the queue.

Sorry about the previous info...I must have misread the advert, so apologies for any confusion.
