$180 return tickets (bus from Adelaide to Melbourne). I purchased these at the 20min mark of the 4th quarter on Friday. Still seats available.

Ticket price $200 (picked up in second sale today)

Don't require accommodation as the bus trips are overnighters.

Its costing hubby and I about $2500 all up. Tickets $600 (for 2) flight down over $300 flight home over $200 so about $1200 in flights and accomodation is another $700 for 3 nights. Still need to account for food the bus from the airport and transport down there so maybe $3000 for the weekend.

Driving down with 2 mates and the missus, from Sydney on Friday, back on Sunday, fuel will be about $100 each way (vw diesel) staying at uncles place who is in France, he lives in fitzroy so it only a 20min walk to the stadium for us!!

Tickets were $200

Worked out pretty well!

I may consider driving down to Melbourne, but again I'll have to stop for overnight accommodation anyway.

Correct me if I am wrong but I heard it's 6-7 hours driving from Syd to Melb (and 10-11 hrs from Bris to Syd)?

Nah it's pretty much equal these days with all the highway improvements and bypasses between syd-bris, about 8-10hrs

How long do you think it will take to drive through Sydney (from Syd-Newcastle fwy to Hume Hwy obviously)?

My parents did drive from Brisbane to Sydney and back once for a family holiday, but that was in 1999. From memory we had one overnight stop on the way and two on the way back (obviously the Pacific Hwy has had a lot of improvements since).

I've never been to Victoria.

**** it. Booked flights for 400, fly in Friday lunchtime and fly out Tuesday morning, don't start work till midday on Tuesday so it's perfect.

This could be the last time I see them for many years, so why the hell not. Its just money. Being an MCC member, I've paid the money and didn't use it at all this season, may aswell let it pay for itself on one day.

C'mon Swannies!

$500 for tickets

Staying with his brother for the night.

No surprises this is counting as my Bday present.

Lol. Nah, i work for Cityrail so i get a discount, so i managed to nab the last sleeper. 178 bucks. Train gets in 8 am sat, and return leaves 8pm. Never been to melb, so have time to look around. Flying solo, need to find a good pub for lunch. Cant wait!!
Is that $178 return ticket or do you pay that both ways.

Consession or adult ticket I paid $260 for an adult return ticket for the train not a sleeper looks like i paid too much.

return. but like i said the discount is pretty decent. I think I only pay for the bed. If I just got a seat it would be free, but I can't sleep sitting up and I want to be rested somewhat for the bigday.
