Its costing hubby and I about $2500 all up. Tickets $600 (for 2) flight down over $300 flight home over $200 so about $1200 in flights and accomodation is another $700 for 3 nights. Still need to account for food the bus from the airport and transport down there so maybe $3000 for the weekend.

Yep cost me and my dad 2500 for tickets flights and accommodation. There are cheaper ways like buses etc but time restraints don't allow that. Oh well just think its very rare that the swans are in a grand final so let's hope for the best !

Managed to snare a 4 star hotel right in the CBD for $860 for four nights (Wed-Sat), pretty happy with that. Thought I'd be up for more.

That's a great result. I tried and failed to get one in the CBD, eventually got a place for $175 a night but its a bit out of the way, about 3km south of the MCG

Yeah Saturday was more than double the price. I think it was $150ish Wed and Thur and $350ish for Saturday.

Thats a good price, just do what i did on the weekend by having 2 hours sleep and about 30 Schooners of Carlton Draught

Last weekend in Sydney I complained to a taxi driver about being taken by the scenic or the long route . When I went to pay he drove off intentionally with my bags .

For those swans supporters coming to Melbourne please note the following

1- The cost from Tullamarine airport to Melbourne CBD is about $55-
2 - Do not put any bag in the back of the cab . Keep your bags on the seat beside you .
3 - If bags must be put in the back do not pay until your bags are out of the cab .
4 - Check with the hotel about cost of taxis .
5 - When you get in the taxi write down details from the drivers ID on the viser . They will be extra nice to you . This idea came from a Sydney local . Record details of the cab before you get in

Hopefully this information will help any Swans supporters avoid the problem I had in Sydney .
