Grand Final Umpires

The whole final series has been a s**t show.
Last week we had Green Idon getting there heads ripped off play on.

GF Daicos free and goal.
You still burning princess? How beautiful it is.

Brisbane had the rub of the green all day on Saturday until the death. And of course everyone just remembers one final call. As Gerard Healy says on the sen call at one stage, the only way the lions were getting it inside 50 was via free kicks. The 50 against Markov was laughable, direct goal. Just one example. The late free to Coleman for too high that started the chain that led to Cameron goal was rubbish - one ump was about to pay holding the ball which was the correct call , and would have been a shot at goal. Could go on and on about all the calls that went the lions way.

Rubbish complete rubbish.

No mentions of Zac Bailey entering Cox’s protected space to smother the kick, which created a goal 5 seconds later.

No mention of Sidebottom’s 20m intercept mark that wasn’t paid in front of goal despite it clearly travelling the required distance.

What about Zorko literally getting Quaynor in a headlock for no free to be paid?
Don’t forget
Gardiner kicking the ball away after a mark was paid i50 to Cox

A clear fend off HTB in the centre square ignored, following which McCarthy kicked a goal from the stoppage

50m against Markov despite clearly signalling his intent to drop outside 5

The imaginary high contact to Coleman which kickstarted the chain for the last goal of the game

Yet these numpties want to carry on about a technically correct decision :$:$:$

the daicos first goal of the game was soft. Not there in the context of a granny.

Mason Cox grabbed the ball out of the ruck in Q1, surveyed about 3 options, plenty of prior, got tackled and just dropped/threw the ball. Right in front of the Brisbane goals. Not called.

He was whacked across the head by no7, a clear free kick. It wasn’t even the result of a duck or shrug as claimed by many!

If you want a completely ridiculous free kick, try the too high to Hipwood in the pocket in the first qtr, not only was it soft, there was actually no high contact but a head flick by the diver. Just because he kicked it OOF doesn’t excuse it as a terrible attempted gift of a goal.

He ducked into a player and won a free.

GWS last week last quarter had blokes decapitated couldn't get a free.

You do realise the hipwood free kick was a direct even up for the Daicos one? Both of them shouldn't have been called. Both were wrong.

He’s not the one who gave away the free kick though, it was a second player coming over the top whacking him in the face…

Toby Greene dropped the knees and yet you wanted that paid but not to Daicos, no consistency.

The irony is, it’s all the complaining from the media and fans last week that got them paying these soft ones on Saturday.

You do understand the umpire didn’t pay the duck, yes? It was against the second player coming in with a swinging arm.

It’s staggering just how blind you are.

Well the umpire didn't pay anything to Green Idon and Brett Daniel.

I wanted the Green free and Idon payed as they were frees.

So the incorrect decision with no actual high contact was an even up for the previous correct decision? So where was Collingwood’s even up for the clear duck in the first 20 seconds that Brisbane got an incorrect free kick for?

Anyone who thinks the umpires played any part in the pies win on Saturday is delusional. I hope as “neutrals” they were all similarly up in arms in 2018 when the non call on the Maynard block cost the pies a flag

The best team on the day and of the season won the flag. If they kick straight they win by 5 goals +. Christianboy would know all about teams who can’t kick straight 🤣🤣🤣

I literally said both were incorrect. The Daicos was too soft to be called in any final. let alone the first 5 mins of a granny. How about Mason Cox dropping the ball right in front of Brisbane's goal with plenty of prior. forget about that one did we?

So you’ve found 2 incorrect decisions going Collingwood’s way, even though the Daicos one was 100% correct, yet I’ve been able to find 7-8 against Collingwood and haven’t even properly watched a replay yet!

2? oh, you're not even going to mention the pathetic advantage call. The reality is, it was a very even top 6 this year. And it all came down to some pathetic umpiring. Not just the grand final but the GWS game. I mean the Toby Green high tackle not called showed the agenda of the afl. Not to mention Maynard getting off etc. The afl tried their best.

You’re right, it came down to pathetic umpiring which kept the game close all day by ensuring Brisbane got every leg up possible to stay in it. But instead the sooks will focus on the 1-2 that went against them whilst ignoring the far more that went their way.

As for Greene, even Razor admitted live first viewing he thought great call, on replay they realised it wasn’t as blatant a duck as they thought and should have been paid. Here the problem, umpires don’t get replays and rely on that initial viewing which looked a great call.

A call made because supporters and media cried so much about Ginni kicking goals they changed the rules…
