I've got a quick question.

If I were to buy a package now, how hard would it be to change names and on-sell say if the Eagles don't make it?
Of course i would pass it on at face value.

Inb4 Scalping accusations etc.

Presumably would have to be Dockers supporter if the package is ex-Perth. Don't like the sound of that.

If you plan on going over go a few days before and enjoy the festivities of GF week in Melbourne. Can't speak from personal experience but have mates that travelled over in 2006 for the GF and Dockers fans in 2013. A great experience and something I hope to do myself in the upcoming years

Roughly how much do the tickets allocated to club members cost?

Seeing this wasn't answered...just noticed this on the AFL website:

"THE AFL has announced that all ticket prices for the 2015 Toyota AFL Finals Series will remain at the same level as the previous two seasons.

"Single tickets for weeks one and two at the MCG will range from $40 to $85, while a family ticket (two adults and two children) is available for $80.

"Single-seat ticket prices for the preliminary final weekend at all venues range from $68 to $170, while a single ticket to the Grand Final will cost anywhere between $180 and $399."

I booked flights, accommodation months ago. Taking the family for the week.

Wasn't actually planning on going to the grand final as back then I thought we would finish bottom. Later on thought - holy shit we might actually make and we will be there anyway :).

Nek minut - realised the grand final was on the following weekend because of the stupid cricket and convincing the wife to stay another week would be a hard task. The way its going there might not even be a prelim we can go to the weekend we are there.

I have no problem with people reselling tickets. I bought a ticket from an official AFL agent in 2005, cost $1100 and when I got the ticket it had a face value of $125!

No one scalps as well as the AFL.

OUCH!!! That's gotta be a bad feeling. Still working on the wife or given it up?

Think you will find that most packages are already exhausted. Pray its WCE v FREO as there may be more general public or reseve filled if clubs, MCC and reserve don't sell as quickly as say if Hawthorn were playing. I recall in 2005 that there was still general admission selling a day or two before the game cause they were interstate (if you don't count Sth Melb connection)
Totally agreed. In fact, this is the best scenario for both WA and Victoria. We have more ticket availability and the Victorians will earn more interstate money through tourism. Win Win!!!!

Driving over if we make it, I can see the peak hour traffic on the Nullarbor if it happens to be a derby. Please be a derby GF how sweet it would be.

Had no trouble in the ballot in 06 with a regular membership. Lined up in 05. Have a feeling that may not be the case this year, especially if the Hawks are in it. Are Full AFL memberships transferrable?

Yeah me and some mates are driving over as well now, possibly the only benefit of living in Kalgoorlie is being 7 hours closer!

I heard in 2013 a group of Fremantle supporters actually bought a bus to travel over and then sold it when they got back!

Bit the bullet and have booked my flights and accomodation and gotten leave approved from work. Will cancel it all if we don't make it, which would be a damn shame! We live in far North QLD for work. Any excuse to get out of here for a weekend is a good one.

If WCE make it, I'm driving over too.

I'm torn between getting one of those exorbitant AFL packages or trying my luck in the ballot. Probably wait for the ballot as I'd feel so dirty supporting those gouging campaigners - if there's one thing worse than scalping it's a small monopoly legalising scalping for themselves while taking the moral high ground against anyone else doing it

Has anyone had any experience with the resell market for AFL GF event packages? Either as buyer or seller?

At least being in Radelaide it's only a one-day drive so I don't have to bend over for the airlines like you poor bastards in Perth.

Bought return GF flights to Melb via Sydney on Tuesday night just gone, through Jet Star. Flying over Wed night returning Tuesday night. Payed the extra 76 bux so I can sell the tix (Someone can use them in there name) or I can cancel the flights but must use them with in 12 months IF the eagles don't make it. Cost 952 all up. Will be entering the ballot for GF tix.....never been, so fingers crossed
