Lovely speech by Fages about Birch. Sounds like he was a liked and respected guy at the club and fair enough to with his achievements in the game. Fages said never considered dropping him either which speaks to his standing. I also got the impression that had Birch said he wanted to go on in 22 that Fages would have said no, but obviously didn't get to that.

Congrats on a great career. He would’ve just been happy to play some consistent footy after the injuries and he made a solid contribution to our club. All the best.
