If they are reporting that Birch is running then it means he is actually in callipers and hooked up to an iron lung.
Or dead.That's JOM.
Birch would be in a coma.
Big blow. We're such a better side with him controlling the ball movement from the backline.Birch ruled out of round 1
Agree that it would be a great story but i still think he might be behind a few. A huge amount of competition for those spots. If they have definitely ruled him out for Round 1, I'd suggest we won;t be seeing him Round 2 and best case is Round 3.
Might provide a first up little run at it for Dave Mirra though, which would be a great story...
Won't surprise me if he pulls the pin.
Clearly troubled by this
Omg, don't say that.
I expect to see him in the BigFooty 2018 Death thread any day now...Won't surprise me if he pulls the pin.

Thankyou for explaining for those of us that are slower off the mark.Hey, that cat's jumping at a shadow.
Oh, I get it ...
I believe he had a calf problem and some saying he was suffering an "old man" injury. He showed them up didn't he.Wasn't Hodgey finished in 2012 after a similar knee issue ?
True. Played most of last year without him and did OK in the second half. Best thing about Birch is when he returns his impact is immediate.A bit of a concern, however, have several players who can step into his role now, so no panic stations
I can feel one of our famous "training blocks" coming on. Wouldn't be a Hawthorn footy season without one.
30 now! See he is rising 31Not even 30 yet.

I hope he's cherry ripe cone finals
Good to hear though the move onto the LTI list is interesting. Are they looking at promoting one of the Cat B rookies? Nash perhaps?http://www.afl.com.au/news/2018-04-30/veteran-hawk-still-a-long-way-from-return
Sounds like he's progressing well, we're putting a preseason into him.
