Smith is a great player and has all the goods to be an even better player in the future. I haven't seen alot of him to be honest(maybe 5 or 6 games in 2007), but of what I did, he looks like a genuine star player.

It's a close call, but I'm not sure we should be comparing the two in the last game they played. Would it be fair to rate Smith on his game against Geelong or Port in the finals?

Regardless, anyone who says Birchall doesn't get his own pill or isn't hard at it needs to watch the last quarter of the Elimination final against Adelaide. He was in everything and was constantly composed and decisive with the pill.
As a 19yr old he is a revelation, as he really has been under-rated by the football media.
If he was at Collingwood or Carlton we'd be sick of his name.

Staker has the potential to be a far superior player to Lynch but Lynch produces far more often than badger.

birchall plays close to his best every week while Smith plays the occasional awesome game but not on a consistent bases
