He's clearly not a fan. Weekly finds a way to turn a win into a potshot.

This week's edition - did the Eagles "play dead" last year?

Tell me Grant - to what end? To pick up pick 26? The old "tank" is dead, I wish the media would learn this...

You see, the problem with the media is they collectively make the MRP look like geniuses, and that takes some doing. ;)
Anyway, they can't get their head around the fact there were circumstances behind the demise the past 3 years and, as I claimed before the season, thanks to Grant's old mates at the Aints, the Eagles were released from Bible School and allowed to play footy again.

I'd say because

a) He has no idea why we played so badly last year and
b) He can't explain why we're playing so well this year

The day I care what Cornflakes thinks is the day Adrian Anderson makes a sensible decision for the future of the game, i.e. never.

Good points. When Channel 9's detailed show around analysis of footy use the line "for whatever reason Cox was down last year", it probably tells you I should've just gone to bed....

Sadly you guys don't get the Triple M Rush Hour with Riccuitto and Chris Ditmar. I've actually developed some man love for Roo just because of how open he is and the overall praise he gives us. He said today that he doesn't think we are better than Collinwobbles but we could be the luckier/better team on the day if we get far enough and that the opposition stop looking at us as underdogs as almost every side has this season. I'd definitely recommend downloading the podcasts of that show and muting out the volume and playing it when that show comes on. Your doctor will thank me because you will have much healthier blood pressure.

I don't normally agree with Grant, but I think there's a case to be made.

We sent all our senior players to the shop and basically gave up by quarter time in most matches. I couldn't confidently say we gave everything to winning last year, nor should we have.

In the big picture, who cares...

We didnt tank.

He is meakly implying that we did.

Grow a spine and at least say it you flog (Grant).

Winning may not of been important but you cant tank Lynch's contested marking, Nicoski's goal sence, Embley's form, Kerr's surgeries, Coxy not being physically able to train through the week etc..

You're totally right. Kerr really should have kept playing, it was just a snapped tendon, Glass could stagger around the back line for the first 8 rounds so he really should have run the season out strong, Cox could have put a season together similar to B Lakes this year with the pre season he had if he really wanted to, Shuey was clinically dead for 16 rounds but could have played a pinch hitting role, totally agree with you.....

Did you even read what you typed?

Watching it now, as usual no top billing. Decent show though, not as good as On the Couch but not lagging too far behind. Used to like when they had "Beat the Press" and that other media segment they had a few years ago.
