Some started pre-80's like Scooby Doo, but were staples of those of us who had the bulk of their childhood years in the 80's. Transformers missing from that list. 80's Transformers was and remains the best version, animated or 'live action'.

I'll also add my favourite as an 80's kid, technically a late 70's cartoon, Starblazers. English dubbing of Space Battleship Yamato. Renamed for the West, as at that time collar tugging of having a TV show for the US (and other English audiences), named after and (in show the ship) built from the wreck of the Japanese Imperial Navies Flagship from WWII.

Transformers were cool. Sound waves was awesome. And Optimus Prime. I had a heap of old toys like them and from the shows I listed that would be worth a fortune today. But most of them are gone now or broken. Sound waves used to have a little tape that projected out of him.

Yeah, my brothers and I had some Transformers, including Soundwave. Also some He-man and Star Wars figures. Of course all long gone, except a couple in very poor shape. Looking back now, thinking how much they'd be worth if they hadn't been taken out and played with. No real regrets though, we had lots of fun playing with them.

Haha yeah I had he-man and star wars too. I had all the tmnt, ghost Busters as well. Thundercats too. Got Robin Hood when it came out in 1991.

My sister had She-ras castle, I had Grayskull and the power sword. Fun times.

Anyway, I'll also add;

Macross/Robotech
Mighty Orbots (as I was a Transformers and GoBot enjoyer)
Silverhawks
Superted
Thundarr the Barbarian
My Pet Monster (I had blue, sister had pink plush/hand puppet)
And whilst I enjoyed it, it was mainly the theme song NGL. Man enjoyed that one word; Dinosaucers
Also, even though it was what, 2 episodes I think, Madballs was interesting as hell for 1987.

And helps when you were a 7min walk from a Toyworld back in the day, fair to say I had a lot of things that ended up getting either lost over the years or donated. For en eg, I had double convoy (Optimus and Ultra) that got donated to a collator some 30 years ago, Optimus was at least missing his trailer, but the kart and his accessories otherwise were all there, so dunno, stupid kid losing things I suppose.

Got a mate who is buying them again after having them as a kid. Was visiting one day and he tossed me a small package and said to open it. was a gun from one figurine he had cost him $60 and that was nearly 10 years ago

Ha, saw the thread and came in her to ask if anyone remembered this weird japanese cartoon about battleships in space where the main boat/spaceship had this giant hole/canon thing at the front, cheers!

There's a remake that was made a bit over 10 years ago, Star Blazers 2199. Better quality animation and the story a bit more serious (as much as it can be given the premise). I'm only part way through at present (an updated reliving of my childhood), but enjoying.
