Looking at our following draw for some of our next matches made me start licking my lips!

Round 4: Carlton No Fev
Round 5: Essendon No Lloyd
Round 6: Kangaroos No Archer
Round 7: Brisbane vs a struggling team who will not have a certain home advantage
ROund 8: Melbourne They are playing good football but can't seem to win.

If we can win atleast 4 of these, I think we have the potentual to make the finals come september. Don't want to get ahead of myself in saying that but the luck of the draw seems to be on our side for a change!

we will certainly have the advantage, it is whether we use it that is the problem. The games we have an advantage we dont seem to take seriously, and ones we dont (i.e. Freo-final chance, and Geel-prem faves) we win combfortably

we're setting ourselves up for a tougher draw next year, so if the younguns step up, they better stay up or else we'll be goin as well early next year as richmond are early this year.

we have to take it one week at a time, lets not get too ahead of ourselves. lose this weekend the those games seem extremely unlikely.

Hawks could lose all 5 if they don't play their best football week in and week out.
Round 4.
Hawks play Carlton without Fev on Friday night at Telstra Dome. Let's hope that's as much of the fixture that AC has allowed the team to look at!
IMO if they are looking at rounds 5 thru 8, Hawks could soon be outside the 8 looking in! BTW Finals are 19 matches away and that's an eternity so take your own advice and don't get ahead of yourself!!!

we'll se where we are at over the next month. if we lose the Blues we have a long way to go, no excuses really. We beat Geelong yet lose to Collingwood, we must beat the Blues otherwise it undoes all our good work.

finals would be amazing however we are far too inconsistent. IF we beat the Blues tomorrow night then yes they are a chance, if we lose then no point mentioning finals again.

From memory Carlton had no Fevola first time round last year and they still beat us . Sure having those players out does help us , but we can't get too far ahead of ourselves . Our start has been better than I had hoped for but it will be quickly undone with a loss tonight . I imagine we will have a far better idea of we we are at after round 8 , and even then we still have most of the stronger sides to come .

Would you all please stop this infuriating speculation. Win tonight does not equal finals, and nor does a loss mean missing the eight. What is wrong with you people?
A win tonight means four points, and a loss tonight means zero points.
Are you really that foolish to think that a round 4 game has a bearing on September? Settle down. So what if we win tonight, but in the process Mitchell and Williams are injured? Or Hodge? There's a lack of depth to the side if you didn't notice last year when we lost a handful of our elite players.
So stop polishing your.... crystal balls and stop worrying about whether or not this year will mark the first of a record breaking 17 consecutive premierships or whether we'll be turned into a gas company and sold off piece by piece by Jeff Kennett next year. Just freakin' turn up tonight and scream yer lungs out... that's all that's required of you!

GAH!!!
