I just hope the team doesn't get a big head and lose focus this Friday. I'd hate to lose to a team that doesn't have 1 player in the top 40 when we have 9.

I'd rather only a few got in........IF it meant winning this week, i am sure the players will once again know not to get ahead of themselves, there has been plenty of opportunities for it to happen, and it hasn't....

Joel selwood didn't care, and I doubt those 9 players will either. The thing is, the players know in the scheme of things it doesn't mean anything, its just some nice salad dressing to go along with other accolades. The big one is the Premership, and the boys all know that.

big heads over some made up team..I think the only people giving a single poo about All Australian is footy supporters. Geelong have come this far to lose focus and 'get a big head' come preliminary final time..im starting to love supporter fables. Only thing harls and his 21 troops give a shit about is that silverware. Where was our big heads during those dead rubbers at the end of the season..nowhere to be seen..so why would this syndrome start affecting us come the most important time of the year.

Agreed AA is mainly a PR thing for the AFL and supporters, doubt any extra pressure goes on Geelong because of this. Your team has been the dominant group this year and all dominant teams feel the pressure to perform at this time and rise to that because of the team they have become. In effect it becomes a positive pressure.

The equation becomes if you guys come to play on Friday you win, you are better than us at this stage. The only real thing we have going for us is that you are a little off we are a team that wont be intimidated by your reputation and will make you pay. We tend to get maximum benefit for the ability we have.

I am hoping you bring your B game so then it will bre match on.

Agreed. I don't think some made up, meaningless honour is gonna put blokes off their game. The focus is the finals and that is all. The AA selection is something for the record books - they wont lose their heads over it.

On SEN they are already talking about the champion team being better than the team of champions - this is ironic since for most of the year journos have been praising us for being an even team winning without stars - now we are 'the team of champions'!!!

listening to the guys talk last night after they had wont their spots they were very measured and all basically said "This is great but we have unfinished business to take care of" I wouldn't be too worried if I was you, they seem very focused on the job at hand.

It seems sort of ironic that people are almost pushing Collingwood's cause over ours - team of champions etc, etc. If anything, we have shown this year that a good, even team playing for each other will outdo individual brilliance.

exactly Moons - they will be fine. however not overly impressed with their lack of presentation skills.
The longer I watched them, it seemed like they were happy to get the AA spots, but they were all thinking about Friday as the priority. That thought made me happy.

After supporting Geelong for 30 odd years this is by far there best chance at a flag.
They seem so focused in what they do on the field and off it.
I have this feeling for the first time in a long long time that we are going to really spank Collingwood and send a clear message to Port and the Kangaroos that thats what they will have to look forward too on Grand Final day.
