Watching swans vs dogs as we speak. Loved last years GF and the intensity, momentum swings and great goals it provided. Doggies snapping goals over their shoulders for fun is brilliant to watch. Kennedy's first half blinder and a couple of goals also fantastic. One of the closer grand finals as they've ended in a blow out since I can remember with just a few exceptions.

What are some of your favorites but more so what do you think are some of the best Grand Finals?

Starting to get pumped for September now. Finals are here just two days away. The bye week takes out the momentum but whatever.

Finals are here baby.

Great grand final - 2009. Not because we won it but because of the hard slog it was and tightness all day.

2012 was an absolute pearler also. 2006 and 2016 I love a lot.

Best grand finals I can remember:

2005
2006
2008
2010 (drawn match)
2014 (boring for the neutral but was as close to a perfect a grand final performance as one can hope for)

2012 was probably the best in recent memory in terms of pure footy - Good skills, high pressure, momentum swings, big finish
2016 was good, but had a bit of a strange, almost scripted feel to it. Not looking to start a fight, just my opinion.
2010 was the most dramatic. Definitely the most memorable.

2005 was a pretty average game for the most part. Incredible last 15 minutes but I wouldn't watch any more than the highlights given the chance.

The draw is the best game I've ever seen live, and 2008 although a wide(ish) margin, was a terrific game. 2012 and 2002 will also go down in my books as two of the greatest finals ever.

Pre-2000's (not my time), I love the 1997 grand final and the 1996 one is also pretty awesome to go back and watch.

2012 the best. I was rapidly barracking for Sydney that game (only to start hating them just days later).
2011 was one of the best matches I've ever seen for three quarters, before Geelong ran away with it in the last.
Haven't watched the last two due to travelling at the time.

2005, 2006, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2016.

I think 2011 has to be the best quality of football in a grand final that I've witnessed. Both teams were very good, but Geelong rose to another level in the last quarter. Collingwood were such a dominant team that year, but even they couldn't keep up with Geelong

Neutral would have hated it but 2014 was football perfection, not to mention all the sub plots involved. It was the best team performance I have seen in a grand final.
The display the cats put on in the 2007 decider? Short memory.

Anyway best GFs -

2012 had the momentum swings, making it a great game in terms of general atmosphere.

I thought 2011 was pretty entertaining for a neutral until the last quarter

lol at all you hawkers thinking a 10 goal win is the greatest football has been played in a grand final. its nothing compared to 119.
All about the opposition chief. You were playing a fading Port team full of witches hats who had given up after quarter time (the remainder of the game had the energy equivalent of a kick to kick at the local park), We were playing a very strong and potent Sydney side who had just recruited our superstar and were strong favourites heading into it.

Whatever helps you sleep at night though :)

The same Port that had beaten us a month prior at Kardinia Park? You can't hold it against Geelong because we recorded the largest ever GF margin. If you're talking perfect football in a GF then a 119 point victory is the closest you're going to get, not a 63 point margin after getting away to a 42 point half-time lead.

Back on topic, '11 was practically flawless from both teams until the start of the last quarter, when the Pies faded.
