This should be interesting. :)

It occured to me when reading AFL wiki of just how few AFL Presidents there have been.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_VFL/AFL_presidents

Under which AFL/VFL President has the game prospered the most and made the greatest advances?

My vote would be Andy D. Sure, he's done some bad things as well, but hasn't everyone?

Aylett-Oakley turned the league from a struggling suburban comp, into a thriving national league.

They may of done it the wrong way (they did it via expansion from the current (at the time) model instead of dropping 4-5 Victorian clubs to the VFA while getting the influx elsewhere straight away), but it helped

Aylett was and is a tyrant, but hey, that's just my opinion.

Oakley successfully bridged the gap from a semi-professional league to a fully professional league, and oversaw the introduction of 4 new interstate sides. That's good enough to get my vote.

We all love to point the finger at Andy but since he has been in the game is bigger then ever.

$1 billion anyone?

I don't think it's a given that we are in the state we are in regardless of any President. Just look at the muppets in charge of the NRL.
Thanks Andy for spreading the national game even further.

I would have thought that people barracking for Victorian clubs hated Oakley seeing as he was the man that stopped the use of almost all suburban grounds.

Oh well.
