Greatest drummer?

For todays I like Danny Carey (Tool), John Dolmayan (SOAD), Tomas Haake (Meshuggah) just from the top of my head.

One for the future is this guy Ben Farnham from Australia. This jam session was just one take, pretty impressive....one to watch :thumbsu:

Josh Freese wins. The drumming in The Noose by A Perfect Circle was the only time drums have truly made me eargasm. He has an incredible ability to always be playing something unique and interesting yet never takes anything away from the song. Most drummers either just stick with the conventions of the style or go off in their own little world, Freese serves the song and captivates at the same time.

What do you call someone who likes to hang around musicians?

A drummer.

Anyway, another vote for Clem Burke.

Like black metal or hate it, as a drummer myself. I have to say Frost kills em all. I can play most style but I just can't go this fast. An most of the drummers mentioned could not either. Playing double with his feet just unbelievable..

Put me down for Haake too.

Carey is great, but he gets a bit too much recognition for mine.

Coady Willis is one of my faves. Bran Dailor also.

I'll back up Mofra with his John Stanier call aswell.

Gene Hoglan should be in this thread too.

Saw Hoglan with Fear Factory for the Metallica run. The man is a beast but his bass drum seriously sounded lost in the mix. Then Ulrich came on and his sounded monstrous. Stupid drum tech needs to do his job!:p

I really don't think anyone put this nonsense up should be judging anyone else on what music they put up, or ever on anything full stop.

The fact you called it tasteless pretty sure this crap here is in the dictionary under tasteless!

What about?

How do you know there is a drummer at your door?

The knock speeds up.

That drummer must've practiced his timing to a guitarist.:D

Most guitarists I've played with are into the solos and the "get a root" stuff but when it comes to playing solid time, they are hopeless.

Not good team players.

There are exceptions of course.

Awesome youtube Madtiger.

Classss.

Here's one of my fav drummers and my fav guitarist together.

This is one of the only guitarists that shows off and makes it sound musical.

GOD=John McLaughlin.
