Not the greatest, but here are some great Richmond football families.

The Richardsons

Alan 'Bull' Richardson - 103 games for Richmond - 1 Premiership
Matthew Richardson - 278 games currently - 794 goals (9th april 2009)

The Bourkes, 3 Generations

Francis Bourke Snr - 16 games
Francis Bourke - 300 games - 5 Premierships - AFL team of the century
David Bourke - 86 games (1 with north melb)

Pretty good effort for a family to have a Grandfather, Father, and son to all play league football. 402 games total for the family.

The Bowdens (father and 3 sons)

Michael Bowden (father) - 59 games - 1 Premiership
Sean Bowden - 6 games
Joel Bowden - 255 games currently (9th april 2009)
Patrick Bowden - 25 games Richmond, 50 games Western Bulldogs

Again, great effort here, there is a 4th bowden son, though he never played league football.

Greetings Viewers

From yesteryear.....

The Barassis - Ron and Ron Junior. A worthy mention.

Thanks for the posts re the Cordners and Pannams. You're never to old to learn something new

An honourable mention for the McAdam Brothers - Greg (St Kilda 10 games), Gilbert (111 games with the Saints and Bears) and Adrian (34 matches with the Saints(?))

Regards

Dicko

Is there anyone with a better record than the Buntons that is simply amazing record ?

I never knew there record was so good, that kills the abletts by a mile.

Lets see. Geoff Ablett-200+ games Hawthorn/Richmond, Kevin Ablett-70 odd games Haw/Geel/StK, Michael Tuck 426 games Hawthorn, Gary Ablett Snr 250 odd games (1030 goals) Haw/Geelong, Gary Ablett Jnr 150+ (currently) games Geelong, Shane Tuck bout that many games Richmond, Luke Ablett bout that many again Sydney, Travis Tuck 3 games (currently) Hawthorn.

Collectively pretty handy-at least 8 flags, possibly more (Geoff played in some?)
Geoff was the first of them and played in 2 Hawthorn flags in 1976 and 1978. Also the fastest player in the then VFL wing all the footballers sprints. So make that 11 flags when you include Nathan's as well.

Hawks have the Kennedys.
John Kennedy Snr. 169 games. Club captain. 4xB&F. HFC first Premiership Coach. Premiership coach in 61, 71 & 76. Hall of Fame Member.
John Kennedy Jnr. 241 games. 4x Premiership player.
Josh Kennedy. Drafted in 2006 and played 4 games so far.

Yeah I think the Kennedy's are very impressive.

The Ablett/Tuck family is large because of the 'merger'. But in one line of the Kennedy family, there is a lot of great achievements. I think Josh Kennedy will also get a shot and be a great player.

If you seperated the Tuck /Ablett dynasty they would rate 1 Abletts and 3 Tucks of all time with the Silvagnis slotting into second place.
In time it may be that the Selwoods will occupy one of the top 3 spots.
Surprised that there has been no mention of the Maddens or the Roccas...........But then I realised that there had to be more than one member of the family contributing!!
Apologies to the Danihers.

Hayden Bunton Jr
1 runner-up Magery Medal
1 Sandover medal

Between the father-son duo
3 Brownlows

Hayden Jr took Sturt to two wooden spoons, not premierships. He also coached South unsuccessfully but he's not alone there. Apart from the coaching in SA, his record is pretty illustrious.

Acording to my grandmother Frank (francis snr) was the best of the lot before doing his knee..........

He was her brother.

I think you will find the Cordner family would be the greatest. All played at Melbourne.

- Don Cordner: 166 games, 23 goals, 1943 B&F, 1948 Brownlow, Melbourne Team of the Century

- Denis Cordner: 152 games, 82 goals, 1949 & 55 B&F, Premiership player '48 '55 '56, Melbourne Team of the Century

- John Cordner: 6 games

- Ted Cordner: 52 games

David Cordner also played a few games for the Dee's in the 1980's.

But (and this is most important), Dr Donald Cordner was also President of the Melbourne Cricket Club. Top that!!!:D

The Morwoods-
Shane: 195/Collingwood, 17/South Melbourne.
Paul: 95/South Melbourne, 60/StKilda, 15/Collingwood.
Tony: 229/ South Melbourne and Sydney.
