ok,ok What game do you believe is the greatest game ever and why.

I am torn between Double dragon and Street Fighter 2.Double dragon was the game that got every one back into the arcades,whilest SF2 was just gaming perfection,it was one of the first games to let u choose multiple characters with multiple moves and the main reason i wagged school and got crap grades

NBA Jam was an arcade classic...other arcade classics such as Double Dragon, 1942 and the original Mortal Kombat. Those were a few games which i couldnt get away from when i was younger.

street fighter was the ultimate. i still play it today (well the alpha versions anyway), been playing the game for 10yrs now!

But considering how good the games where "at that time", I can't go past NBA JAM TE for how many hours I spent on it, and also street fighter 2.

Simcity, Civilisation, Railroad Tycoon, Wing Commander, Ultima Underworld, The Bards Tale, Lemmings, Wolfenstein 3D, Street Fighter II, Super Mario Bros - All favourites of mine for one reason or another.

Civilization II, Diablo I, Diablo II, Wing Commander I, II, III, IV and V, Starcraft, Warcraft I, II and III, Privateer I and II, Sim City 2000, Masters of Orion II, The Sims, Heroes of Might and Magic III, Might and Magic 6, 7, 8 and 9.

These are the best games money can buy (or for some, could buy).

My favourite action game was Syphon Filter. But i'm not really into those type of games - i just can't be bothered.

I really like sporting games but i haven't bought one for ages. The last one i got was Madden 2000 on PS and its really good in the actual gameplay and the graphics are reasonably good.
