You cant expect people to vote for the Ashes as the greatest sporting moment of 2005 as this site is mainly Aussies even if it was a great series.eddiesmith said:

1. Socceroos, unbelievable night. Was so proud to be there, everything was so special - our national anthem, Bresh's goal, the drama of the shootout, the roar when Aloisi's penalty went in - complete strangers hugging, dancing and partying in the street. The stuff of legends.

Disagree, I think Schwarzer's save beforehand has been underestimated.Yze_Class said:
Viduka had just missed and the pressure was right back on the Roos. Schwarzer's save was sheer magic.
As the commentator said, it's as good as you'll ever see from a player under intense pressure.
Anyway, Socceroos get my vote. But when I think of the shootout, I think of Schwarzer's save(s) rather than Aloisi's kick (which wasn't bad might I add!)
