Teams Green Bay Packers - The Frozen Tundra

53 man roster has been released. Only real surprise I'd say is the cutting of Light, makes us quite thin on the O-line.

Really feels like the same team as last year, which isn't really a good thing.

Gute still sending mixed messages with what he's doing with this roster.

And lucky as fu** to get that close...

How were we lucky to get that close?

Personally I believe there will be significant improvement on both sides of the ball from the players. Particularly the offence being in year two of the new system.

How were we lucky to get that close?

We played two good teams all year. One of them without the reigning MVP at QB.

The other embarassed us... twice.

We were a 10-6 team, at best.

Absolutely, agree second year in the system should be better offensively. But it's relying on better WR play that didn't happen last year when we needed it to.

Kirksey is the only change at ILB for the defense and it's not necessarily an upgrade. Beside him is a worry too. Considering how we played the run last year, it's still a worry this year.

And we're not as lucky with who we play this year.

Don't get me wrong, we will win the division, but that's only cos the others are shite.

Care for a wager mate? $50? You take the Packers to win the division, I'll take the other 3 shite teams?

Packers RB Aaron Jones said the team is working towards a new deal for him.
"My agent and them are taking care of that," Jones said in an interview on the NFL Network. "I'm gonna focus on football." The Packers haven't given a second contract to a running back they drafted since finalizing a deal with James Starks, a sixth-round pick in 2010, but Jones appears to be well on his way to stopping that trend. He's set to make $2.13 million in the final year of his contract this season.

Have not seen any highlights or any reports at this stage.

Was conceding 30-odd a cause for concern, or were there oddities at play?

Second Half blow-out...Tight up till half-time, till Rodgers pulled out a hail-Mary with 16 seconds to go for a TD.

Score doesn't really tell the tale we monstered them today. Don't love giving up that many points but wow it was amazing to see the offence look so cohesive. Felt like the defence was playing a lot of prevent in the second half which made moving the ball pretty easy for them, Cousins is a great junk time QB too.

The game started much like most of last year, promising drives fall apart in the redzone. but then found it and looked as good as we have on O in a couple of years.

Kenny Clark went down just before the half and after that didnt get the same push, and kept breaking contain. Also lost Lucas Patrick and then had to re-adjust the OL again, and then lost Lane Taylor to what looks like a bad knee injury. We started Jenkins at Tackle for some reason [he played like a all pro G last year as a rookie, must not like Wagner at T with Turner out] with Wagner at G. moved Jenkins back inside and moved Wagner to T and the rookie Runyan at the other G.

Vikings woke up in the 2nd half with less pass rush on Kirk. but we answered every score with out own. MVS had some brutal drops. Lazard had another great TD. and Adams was on fire again.

Deguara looked good. took on some big blocks and almost made a big play just went outside on a inside throw on the sideline. But can see why he is getting reps already.

AJ Dillion made a 8 yd run from nothing. Dude has massive legs. and might take reps of Williams soon. Ervin and Lazard getting end around runs/push passes to open the box and use the same motion for inside runs for Jones.

Alexander was good again. something like only the 5th player in the last 20 years to have a INT, Sack and Safety in the same game.

Vikings will get better. im glad we got them early and the 2nd game mid Nov. they have super young CB's who will be inconstant but will keep learning.

Lazard could have had a monster game, but for a fumble & a trip...Both when in the clear.

Wagner is carrying an injury and they didn't want him on the outside.

The loss of Kenny Clark can’t be understated. Fingers crossed it isn’t too serious because he is massive for us

most people dont rate inside DL. but it huge when you have a good one. look at the Bears lastyear after Hicks went down. Mack went missing because there was no inside push moving the QB to him.

Hope Clark isnt too bad. but groin injuries are normally a few weeks. just hope nothing is torn.
Lane Taylor will have knee surgery this week and out for the season, sadly expected.
Patrick is a chance to play this week.

"a motivated and pissed off Aaron is better than a comfortable and content Aaron"

Can't for the life of me remember where I saw those words of wisdom yesterday but I thought it was beautifully put.
